Best finisher of all time...

Who in your opinion is the best finisher in boxing history?

Going by eye I pick Joe Louis but Sam Langford and McGovern had some great killer instincts to go along with crushing power...

Any suggestions that rack up votes will replace dead options on the poll :TU:

Added Hearns and Olivares. Was difficult to omit SRR but I see nobodies mentioned him so far...

I went for Joe Louis, don't remember him letting anyone off the hook.

Joe Louis for me but certainly with this on the list should mention Jack Dempsey, Rocky Graziano, Ruben Olivares.

Louis and Tyson were great finishers. Robinson too. I like the shout to Leonard. Underrated as a finisher.

Dempsey is very overrated, he doesn't belong due to his comp level. Neither Graziano, but Rueben definitely belongs...it's just who does he replace?

Jack Dempsey
with 44 KO 54 wins of which 19 in the first round, I see him and boxing historians recognize as one of the best finisher.

I repeat for me the best finisher Louis.

Who would you take from the list to add Ruben Olivares?

The good is this list but I'm just saying that it is worth mentioning these three.
I personally would probably Ruben Olivares was in the top 5 finisher.

I agree he was a great finisher. I missed him completely. Would you have him over Arguello, manny?

Hard question. Both were brilliant finisher and I really do not know.

I only know that Louis No1 then probably Marciano and Moore for me.
This list you wrote was very good and all 10 deserve to be mentioned.

Don't know why Pac is on the list to be honest. I wouldn't think the best finisher of all time or even somebody that's in the conversation for that would have gone 7 consecutive years without a KO victory.

he was a good finisher at the lighter weights. I'd have him last out the ten...maybe I will replace him with Hearns or Olivares.

Who do you pick?

I think I'd have to go with Joe Louis, if he ever got you hurt he was a vicious finisher.

Julian Jackson was a good finisher... So was Aaron Pryor.. Gennady Golovkin knocked out more title challengers in a row than anyone else... Marciano knocked old Light Heavyweight Archie more down numerous times before stopping him - so he wasn't that fabulous a finisher... Beterbiev is a bigger Light Heavyweight than Rocky was -- and he crushes you with a shot.. If David Haye gets you going he finishes you ruthlessly -- one of the most savage finishers ever.

Archie Moore didn't look like a good finisher in his 3 Ezzard Charles fights. He got stopped and Ezzard didn't... Hearns tried to stop massive underdog Iran Barkley -- and he got stopped... Mike Tyson was knocked out 5 times - often by underdogs... Ruben Olivares is the best finisher on the list, but was stopped by Arguello... However Arguello was overpowered and canned twice by Aaron Pryor.. Anthony Joshua is a great finisher.. Chris Eubank is developing into a brutal and heartless finisher.. Louis's best fight was versus Max Baer. He had pinpoint power for that one.

The list needs rethinking though.

Mike Tyson - if he had you going, you were gone.

I can only think of Douglas who survived & that was in the 8th when Tyson was tired.

Haye with Thompson was not exactly the same. So everyone can watch and is only just some.
