Khan v Brook off

The same must surely apply to Khan taking a 50/50 then surely? If he [Kell Brook] had that much confidence in beating me, then he’d take it in a heartbeat
Surely this would be the biggest payday of Khan's career too?Eddie was in the meeting. He agrees with me now and he’s p*ssed off with Kell. It’ll have been his [Kell Brook’s] biggest payday. He’d have got more money than he did against GGG. Forget about the percentage – it’s all about how much he’s going to make. It’ll be a lot more than he’ll get against a mandatory, or against anyone else. It just seems to me like he wants to pull out of this fight, and out of the Errol Spence fight, and wants to go back to fighting people like JoJo Dan and Kevin Bizier.
not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.davie wrote:The same must surely apply to Khan taking a 50/50 then surely? If he [Kell Brook] had that much confidence in beating me, then he’d take it in a heartbeat
Just out of curiosity, what is it that Khan brings to the table?wesshaw1985 wrote:not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.davie wrote:The same must surely apply to Khan taking a 50/50 then surely? If he [Kell Brook] had that much confidence in beating me, then he’d take it in a heartbeat
Khan knows he brings more to the table commercially and he also knows he isn't the favourite going into the fight.
So if he is more than likely going to lose he has to financially make that worth his while...
ask brook... he been wanting to fight him for 5 yearsRob3_142 wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is it that Khan brings to the table?wesshaw1985 wrote:not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.davie wrote:

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a grudge opponent. They're both local lads at the top of their game. Seems natural that they'd want to fight one another. Well that's for Brook anyway, clearly Khan doesn't feel the same.sweetscience wrote:ask brook... he been wanting to fight him for 5 yearsRob3_142 wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is it that Khan brings to the table?wesshaw1985 wrote: not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.

Brook has wanted Khan in the same way that Witter wanted Hatton. Both good fighters but lower in profile than a domestic rival. Hatton, and Khan, chased the massive fights, and Khan ultimately got one ahead of Brook in the shape of Canelo. And whilst it's legitimate to say Khan didn't deserve Floyd, it's not hard to say he deserved one just as much as the likes of Ortiz and Maidana.Rob3_142 wrote:I don't think there's anything wrong with having a grudge opponent. He is a bigger draw and will generate more interest and more ££s & particularly $$sRob3_142 wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is it that Khan brings to the table?wesshaw1985 wrote:not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.davie wrote:

Kells the one asking for an even split, surely if Khan isn't willing to settle for that in a heartbeat, it says more about his confidenceIf he [Kell Brook] had that much confidence in beating me, then he’d take it in a heartbeat
Khan isn't stupid, the bookies and the fans favour Brook to win.davie wrote:He is a bigger draw and will generate more interest and more ££s & particularly $$sRob3_142 wrote:Just out of curiosity, what is it that Khan brings to the table?wesshaw1985 wrote: not exactly, Khan isn't stupid.

But as I said, if Khan wants to make that statement, it has to apply both ways. Or is Khan conceding that he isn't as confident of the win as Kell?

I'd say Khan alone brings in any US interest in the fight.Boxerbeetle wrote:Is Khan that much of a bigger draw? I didn't think so. Regardless, just make it a 50-50 split and both end up doing very well. Simple.
If you were in Khans position you wouldn't simply take 50/50...Boxerbeetle wrote:Is Khan that much of a bigger draw? I didn't think so. Regardless, just make it a 50-50 split and both end up doing very well. Simple.
In fairness he was on Floyd undercards looking absolutely great, and he'd beaten Maidana who landed two fights with Floyd. It's not like he was a Pacquaio, Cotto or Canelo but it becomes very hard to argue Khan didn't deserve a shot at Mayweather at some point but Ortiz, Guerrero and Berto all did.Emmseegee wrote:Is there anything in the rules to prevent suce a thing as 60/40 or 70/30 in favour of the winner? Surely that would show where the confidence lies, Id imagine Brook would jump at that deal and dont believe for a second that Khan would.
Surely Khan doesnt believe that he deserves 70% of the split? Id think that he has came up with that in the hope that Hearn counter offers with 60/40.
Amir Khan truly infuriates me, this whole thing and the chasing after Mayweather etc. I like watching him fight but hate listening to him with all the nonsense that he speaks.
Is he a businessman though or just an interfering amateur with an inflated sense of his own importance ?bigB wrote:His Dad isn't that bad! Just wants what's best for his son that's all. He is a businessman so 70-30 isn't good business regardless of how confident they are.
