Just watched the knockout of this fight and though tit was worth a bit of a discussion.

Standing 8 required about 4 punches before he was knocked over

This is why the standing 8 count is necessary, otherwise the ref just has to stop that as the ropes are holding him up.

We'll never know if he could have carried on had that been stopped 4 or 5 punches earlier and more importantly, he could have been killed taking punches like that while basically unconscious

Tremendous show from a legend.

I always felt he should have stopped it after the first five punches. The last five were unnecessary from the referees point of view; of course Sweet Pea was right to keep throwing them.
