Khan vs Brook split - OFFICIAL POLL

Let's pretend that you are the Promoter.
And that you have the FINAL say as to the mechanics of the purse split.

What do you think would be the fairest split at this moment in time?

(Considering the entirety of both fighters careers' and their current situations)

NOTE: CAN PICK 2 OPTIONS

I think that if anything a 55/45 split to Khan as he's the more recognised name.
But also I'd prefer to see an even split.

Latest news from Eddie Hearn is that it looks like the fight won't happen in April or May - both fighters will fight someone else.

For Brook that would mean Erroll Spencer as his mandatory challenger.

Well Brook should fornicate him off then and fight his mandatory shouldn't he?

Brook has been a terrible welterweight champion. At least Khan fought contenders when he was a world title holder.

Eddie Hearn talked about a guarantee regardless of the split still don't know why this fight cant be made as it sounds very petty. Add a rematch clause Khan can take 70/30 and rematch goes 70/30 to the winner of the next bout. If the rematch isn't fulfilled im sure there are some legalities to take part of the purse back if one doesn't take the rematch. :brick:

saying petty obviously it's money which goes into the millions so maybe not petty in the fighters eyes. ;-)

Another edit http://www.BS.com/brook-khan-w ... nd--112986

" Put your money where your mouth is Kell Brook offers 70/30 to the winner"

Really like McCloskey and salida .... Khan doesn't deserve a fight vs brook what has he done in the last 6 years other than get beat ..To put it in context the last time khan won a world title fight Carl froch hadn't even fought Andre ward...
Salita was a mandatory, you know the fights Brook won't take. McCloskey is better than anyone Brook has fought as champion. Maidana Is better than anyone Brook has fought aside form GGG which was a stupid fight. If Khan doesn't deserve a Brook fight then why did Jo Jo Dan and the rest of those nonsense fights? Khan would be Brook's third toughest fight he's ever had, and he's been a champion for years.

Dan was easy fight after brook won the belt just like khan is but for some reason khan thinks he's more than an old washed up name ..... Khan's a has been that has wasted his career who's only known for getting knocked out regularly .
So why not take the split Khan wants (which earns him more than the hiding GGG gave him) and starch him? Brook will win this fight, why won't he take it Though? Personally I'd rather see him defend his belt against Spence but Brook can't get motivated, apparently.

Why should he brooks the champion not khan ,if khan thinks he would win why doesn't he take the offer of 70-30 to the winner ,he knows he'd get knocked out again .The strange thing is I don't mind khan as a fighter he's just completely deluded about his own place in boxing he's not elite he's not even a champion he's not even a top contender any more yet he thinks he's Mayweather
Khan is the name here. Brook maybe a champion but he earns nothing like what Khan gives him anywhere else, Khan earns less too but he could go out to the states and earn decent money as an opponent. Brook has no choices here, hopefully the fight doesn't get signed and Brook gives up his title rather than fight a fighter at his weight with a pulse. He's never going to fight Spence, and it speaks volumes about Brook. Khan gets so little respect on here but he'd fight anyone which has been to his detriment but at least he's put himself on the line.

Lol khan will fight anyone you say but yet he won't fight brook .Or Garcia or Thurman ...
They're fighting each other and he's already fought Garcia. :D

Brook would run a mile from either.

Khan offered terms and its brook who turned them down.

That's a harsh statement to make. I realise that Jojo Dan and Kevin Bizier aren't elite-level opponents but they were his Mandatory Challengers.

Brook HAD to face them to keep his World title. That those fights happened has more to do with the IBF's ranking-makers than Kell Brook himself.

As for the defense against Frankie Gavin, I do agree that it shouldn't have been a PPV event, but in Frankie Gavin was begging Eddie Hearn for the fight and consistently called Brook out on every platform that he could.

Were they mandatories? Both of them?

No as I understand it. His name would be known to boxing fans, but by and large he is a bit of a laughing stock.

Why? Because they think that he has no chin & that he loses every big fight that he is in (Peterson, Garcia, Canelo).
I would also suggest that since Amir hasn't been a World Champion in a long time, it's not doing him any favours.

The Americans badly underrated Amir.

Yes, both of them (sure they took place in different calendar years, didn't they)

And I can remember the public outcry on BoxRecSim when those fights were announced. The Bizier defense was a strange one, because he was ranked as the 5th Welterweight in just the American rankings - the likes of Bradley, Mayweather, Alexander were all ahead of him yet he got a World title shot.

Believe me, if they weren't Mandos - I would be just as critical of Kelly as the next man.

So why the sudden urge not to fight a mandatory in Spence? Cause he's a live opponent?

I watched a 35 min IFL interview with Eddie Hearn last night & he wants Kell to move up to Light Middle. Apparently it's been discussed with his trainers & nutritionist that he'd be better fighter if he moved up.

Hearn has said that Brooks initial reaction was that he wants to stay at Welter whilst he has the World title.

Hearn has said because of this that they are open to a Spencer bout and that it would have to be in England.

Fair enough Mr DD.

I just think that there's a difference between someone telling you something and you seeing it for yourself.

60-40 Khan is fair.

It's prizefighting, Khan is the bigger draw so he gets more money.

Brook is still relatively unknown to the wider sporting public and this is the reason that the fight won't happen. Hearn constantly bangs on about filling Wembley stadium for the fight but that's silly. It might sell out the O2 or the MEN Arena but nowhere much bigger than that. Brook has no public profile to speak of and Khan whilst a lot more well known than Brook is yesterday's news now.

Why not go down the flat fee say 3mil each then 70/30 to the winner.

If both are confident then both will surely want that 70% pot when they win.

I don't think khan will win, nor do I like his Floyd mayweather stunt the other day. That was crude basically I'm richer I deserve more than you.

Khan wouldn't agree to that. He wants 70% guaranteed.

If I was Brook I'd offer Khan 75-25 if he wins, 50-50 if he loses.

I'm not Brook.

If it was offered I'm sure he would find another excuse not to fight.

Khan probably knows he's not got too many big paydays coming. If he loses to brook, he's no longer carrying the banner for the UK in fights abroad in his weight class, and the paydays diminish accordingly.

I think he's cashing out, because I can't see him getting any other bigger opportunities financially.
