Arnfield v Rose

This was added to the Crolla bill yesterday and looks and intriguing scrap.
They know each other inside out, having trained and live together.
Arnfield is in a good bit of form,so he starts as the bookies favourite.
what does everybody else think?

These are exactly the type of domestic fights that should be made - not (decent level but not world level) boxers avoiding each other in the hope that some inter-continental belt will get them a spurious IBO world title shot.

Damn good fight imo. Fair play to both, though I don't think any have backed down from a challenge. As close as you get with the bookies. A little early support for Rose sees him 5/6 while Jack is available at evens.

The bookie have jack as favourite and brian is even money.

Dave. Think Jack was favourite initially but like I say a little money has come in for Rose which has flip flopped the odds. This is on PP which as far as I can see is the only bookie with a market. Agree with Arnfield being the form fighter but Rose has been at a higher level though not always successful there. Cracking fight either way. And congrats btw with the current undefeated record at the gym :TU:

Cheers mate! Always good to get your boys educated opinions on the fights.
Ah ok,didn't realise that was the case with the betting.
We think jack has greatly improved where brian is still the same fighter.

This fight never even crossed my mind tbh. They box very similar dont they, both got that Bobby Rimmer style upright jab,not biggest punchers.Could be a cagey fight this, but with the local rights theres maybe hope for a bit of a tear up at some point.

Maybe Arnfield is too big for Rose and can use his range and size but if im to pick one id go with Rose.I know Jack is improving but I feel like Rose has better shot selection all round, maybe throws more punches.Thinking it might be a technical fight id lean towards Rose to outscore him.

Just wish we could have it here in Blackpool. It belongs here on its own card in the Winter Gardens.Would be good for boxing here, maybe set some ideas rolling for more fights locally. but understandably thats not how it goes is it.

I'm a big fan of Rose and I reckon he has still got enough to win this one.
Jack has come on leaps and bounds but I thought Ryder deserved the decision last year.

Great fight though especially for Blackpool area.

Yeah a few people said that about Ryder, but on the night and with no commentary we thought jack had done more than enough,as did his promoter.
Some good points made Lancashire loyal, and you would have been right maybe 3 years ago,but rose has been in some hard fights and looked out of sorts against macklin, who himself was a shadow of his former self.Anyway great fight for the area and whoever wins looks likely to bring boxing back to Blackpool

Interesting and intriguing fight this one so credit to both lads and their respective teams for getting it on.
I've seen the majority of both lads fights over the years and even travelled to New York to support Rose in his failed world title bid.

Arnfield has come out of the shadow of Rose and no doubt benefited from the move to his new training team , his progress has been most noticeable. This will be close , very close with a lot of pride at stake . At the moment I'm edging slightly towards Arnfield thinking that, he's on a good run, improving , he will know exactly what Rose has to offer and obviously must be confident & fancy the fight.

I think this is a great domestic scrap and the type that definitely have a place on bills like the one on Saturday.

As for the outcome of the fight I think it'll be a cagey one with neither lad wanting to loose by making a silly mistake. Hopefully somewhere along the way there'll be a few tasty shoot outs.

Slightly leaning towards Arnfield personally.

Got a bit personal between the trainers there.

Fancy Arnfield wide points or late stoppage depending on how Brians nose holds up.Arnfield is a fighter peaking now and will know Brian inside out. Brian has had an excellent career for someone of his ability and much of the credit does go to Bobby Rimmer. I just think he is past his peak which was the Maciel fight where he fought out of his skin in an absolute war.

This is a competitive fight which is all you ask promoters for but for some reason I just cant get up for this, I think the styles might not gel, hope I'm wrong though, I fancy Arnfield on points

I've got a feeling this goner be a good fight I'm undecided I think it all depends on how much rose has left cos he looks shot to pieces, it's all well and good saying camps been great but we hear this every time and fighters box shite then blame an injury. I wouldn't say jacks jealous of Brian but there is a lot dislike towards Bobby so think that's why he's pushed for this fight with rose

Decent fight this. Probably wouldn't put it on right before Crolla because I think there's a good chance it'll go 12 and might not be the most entertaining watch, but it's definitely well matched. Think Arnfield will just be that bit fresher and get the points win.

Rose just went for Arnfield at the weigh-in by the looks of things. Might be a better fight than I thought if they bring that aggression tomorrow night.
