Saw this earlier and thought it was worth sharing.

In case you didn't know this is a new thing the WBC have brought in with VADA. That every ranked fighter must sign up to 24/7 365 VADA drug testing. As much as I can slate the WBC this is very good for boxing and the others really need to implement this.

Yesterday they shared a list of fighters who have been sent out invitations but not signed up yet. If they don't then they will be removed from the next lot of rankings in a couple of weeks. If anyone hasn't already noticed fighters boxrec profiles do highlight if they are in it.

What does dissapoint me is that there are a fair few British fighters on this list ( some have commented on this topic on Twitter). There's no excuses for this and I don't want to hear the "oh but they are not going for a WBC title"

Well Kell Brook, Eubank Jr, George Groves Scott Quigg just to name a few are signed up and are not going the "WBC route" so that argument is completely invalid. I think Brook has actually voluntarily signed up for this which is setting an excellent example. Joseph Parker did the same as well.

I was just going to make a similar thread.

I am just getting into twitter and follow Pauli Malignaggi - there are some comments I didn't understand about Eggigngton not signing up for this drug testing ahead of their fight.

I wonder if Haye and Boomer will be tested?

I am not even gonna bother commenting about Joshua or Tyson/Hughie Fury.

AJ does not have to sign up because he is IBF champion.

This is only for WBC ranked fighters and the above have all been invited. Joseph Parker didn't have to though but his promotional team said it was important they did because they strongly believe in a clean sport.

If Anthony Joshua was the role model sky are portraying him to be then he would do this to set an example to others.

Why should boxers not ranked by the WBC have to actively volunteer to join the programme? Effing ridiculous. It should be mandatory for all world ranked boxers, regardless of alphabet organisation.

Not a chance Bellew is on roids anyway. He looks like the cleanest British fighter for sure.

This. It's not good that it took the WBC this long to put a coherent programme in place, but even worse that the other 3 organisation haven't bothered to follow suit.

Whilst I definitely don't think Bellew is on gear the eye test doesn't always work.

Tyson Fury has failed a test for PEDs and Erkan Teper isn't exactly in good shape.
