BS.com reported last week that Ramon Alvarez was open to the idea of a rematch with Omar Chavez - but only if the fight would take place in a featured position on the anticipated May 6th event, which is going to feature the main event battle between their brothers - Ramon's younger bother Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Omar's older brother Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Alvarez (24-5-2, 16 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Chavez in September of 2014. Since then, Chavez (35-3-1, 23 KOs) has won three fights in a row. Alvarez picked up a win last December after suffering a decision loss to former world champion Antonio Margarito in August.

Zanfer Promotions, who work with both boxers, were looking to stage the rematch on March 11th as part of their upcoming fight schedule.
