Deontay Wilder can showcase his explosive knockout power when he defends his WBC heavyweight title against Gerald Washington, live on Sky Sports.
'The Bronze Bomber', who is expected to become a future opponent for IBF champion Anthony Joshua, will be hoping to extend his destructive record when he faces fellow American Washington in Birmingham, Alabama on February 25.

I'll record and watch the next day. All his flaws aside I quite like Wilder and find him a decent watch.

Anyone giving Washington much of a chance here? A lot of people have recently been singing his praises saying he's a legit contender, that was before the fight was made, I imagine now those same people are saying he's a hype job, I cant remember seeing him myself but no doubt I have??
I noticed he has a draw with Mansour and wins over Austin, Chambers, Sherman Williams amongst a few other recognisable names(all past it) he has a better CV than Wilder did before he fought Stiverne for the title, its hard to gauge how good he is though having never seen him
Wilder having his 1st fight since surgery following the Arreola win, he was alright that night, workmanlike performance, injured his hand but still got Chris out of there, providing he's still injury free i'll take Wilder to KO Washington but I'm hoping Gerald can make a fight of it, he's had plenty of time to get in shape despite being a replacement

I'm out Saturday night, and will probably be getting back in enough time to watch the England vs Italy rugby on Sunday.
I might get it taped to watch Sunday night. I don't know if I can be bothered.

Washington is one of those lads that you can tell can't take a punch just by looking at him. I used to say this about Price to my mates. You can just tell he can't take a punch by looking at him.

I will stay up for this.
I fancy Wilder by KO but there's question marks over him on this fight.
Coming back from injurys (plural) and ring rust.
Also he's had sensational knockouts but he's been outboxed at times with inferior opposition.
If I was a bookie I'd make Washington around a 4-1 outsider. As he's being offered at 8-1 I've actually put a few quid on him.

I watched Washington Vs Chambers live on TV. I've also seen a few of his other fights. He's terrible, Bermane Stiverne, Eric Molina, Johann Duhaupas, Artur Szpilka and Chris Arreola are all better opponents than Gerald Washington.
Wilder has become more and more negative the further his career progresses. There's been quite a few moments in the last 2 years where he's had his opponents hurt but he's not been willing to commit and they've managed to recover.
So predicting outcomes for Wilders fights it actually pretty difficult. Even more so this fight because he's coming off and injury. I think Wilder is very good but he's turned into joke. He's got to step up and start fighting some of the top boys. Rather than the guys dwelling around the bottom of the pond who are simply there for the payday.

Looking forward to the whole card. Wilder will be the cherry on top of a nice Victoria sponge.

Wilder's "reign" is pathetic. There's heavyweights who never won a world title with more A class wins than he has (which to date are zero).
