All aboard The "Hatton-Cott"!!!

I'm sure you remember a while back when fans in the US started a "Roy-cott" b/c of Roy's opponents. Well, ladies and gentlemen, sign up for the "Hatton-Cott". I am an honerary member and I'm recruiting more members.

1. Hatton had the chance to fight Sharmba Mitchell in his last fight. Gary Shaw called Warren out on Sky and said Hatton needs to step up. Hatton proceded to fight Carlos Wilfredo Vilches instead.

2. Hatton was WBO #1 for a LONG time. Why didn't he fight Demarcus Corley? Corley said he wanted the fight. Junior Witter asked Hatton this very question on Sky. Hatton didn't answer it directly.

3. Junior Witter has been calling Ricky Hatton out for 4 years. Hatton has faced Stephen Smith, Aldo Rios, Carlos Wilfredo Vilches, Dennis Holbaek Pederson and a few others on that level instead of facing Witter. Why didn't he fight Witter instead of these fights? Witter has always been there. What happened to the "contract" that Hatton said he signed that stipulated that Witter was to fight Hatton? Was there such a contract?

4. Zab Judah and Floyd Mayweather have both said they would fight Hatton IN MANCHESTER. hatton has not replied to either request. Judah subsequently moved up to welterweight.

5. If Hatton really wants to fight for a title, like he says he does, why doesn't he fight Vivian Harris in the US? Hatton is a millionaire after his recent "fights" and would not suffer by taking 25% of the purse on purse bids. Hamed went to the US to fight the best. Benn fought in the US. Why doesn't Hatton fight in the US?

6. Hatton holds the WBU belt. Everybody know this belt is nothing more than a piece of crap which enabled Hatton to pick and choose easy fodder that he could beat. The Manchester football fans who go to Hattons fights are duped into believing he is a genuine World Champ. If Hatton really wanted to get to the top, he would ditch the meaningless belt and fight for a REAL one.

7. allegedly said LIVE ON SKY that he would match Hatton up with Harris or Spadafora in October. Hatton is now facing "No Joke" Stewart, someone who Mitchell beat in MANCHESTER and dropped 3 times. Warren has also said Hatton would be fighting Witter in the Summer of 02 and 03. Nothing happened. Warren cannot be trusted in anything he says and either can Hatton.

ARE YOU SICK of hearing that 2004 or 2003 or 2002 or 2001 is going to be "Hatton's year"?
ARE YOU SICK of watching ONE-SIDED BEATDOWNS as Hatton fights OVERMATCHED fighters in his 20000 MEN arena?
ARE YOU SICK of hearing Hatton and Warren saying that the NEXT FIGHT will be against a genuine world champion?
ARE YOU SICK of telling your freinds Hatton will be a World Champ for the past 4 YEARS???????

If you are interested , the Hatton-Cott is taking new members.

Hatton-Cott Rule #1.
We do NOT go to a Ricky Hatton fight until he fights for a genuine belt against a genuine belt holder.

Maybe it's a bit much asking people NOT to watch his fights. After all, we've watched him develop as a fighter. I have amended Rule #1.

This is somewhat like the British version of the Roycott.

Snap, I thought Livra had written a petition to SN and just did a typo in the subject heading.

If Hatton vs Stewart is on Sky box office I certainly won't be paying, I won't be paying untill its for a meaningful belt.

I'd like to boycott all fights involving the WBU.

I wonder if the WBU will ever be allowed to stage a fight in the United States again.

Where do i sign?

I'm actually deeply disappointed by this turn of events. I finally see that there will be no stepping up, there will be no big fights, RH has no hunger to test himself against the best. I always found a way to give him the benefit of the doubt up until this week.

Another waste of talent just like Calzaghe. These are sad times.

Haha I did too! Until it dawned on me a millisecond later that Cotto actually punches back, and therefor egave myself a mental slapping for even entertaining the idea Hatton might fight a live opponent.
