Breaking news: Manny blames allegedly

WBA 140lb champion Vivian Harris' manager Emanuel Steward has spoken out about his disappointment in the breakdown in negotiations with Ricky Hatton and allegedly for a shot at Harris' title belt. "allegedly's dictator-like attitude and 'my way or no way' attitude was the breaking point" said Hall of Famer Steward. "He didn't want the Harris-Hatton title fight to go to purse bids, now costing Hatton a shot at the world title. Contrary to many media reports, we decided in conjunction with Main Events that since Hatton is a good boxer we'd even offer him a 50/50 split. That's unheard of when typically the champ gets 75-80%, but they still turned it down. Warren wanted to do the deal entirely his way, when the pressure was on he pulled Hatton from the ratings. Now, exactly as we predicted Hatton will face yet another fighter in October. It's a shame because the British fans are some of the best in the world, and they deserve much more. Ricky Hatton had always been one of my favorite fighters to watch, and I suspect Ricky Hatton has the heart of a lion, but Warren is so demanding and stubborn, it's now cost Ricky a shot at the world title. Harris and Hatton both really wanted this fight. Our camps had even communicated personally. It's very disappointing."
"As far as Vivian's future is concerned," continued Steward, "I have just got off the phone with our promoter, Main Events, and learned that the WBA is making Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vivian's mandatory now that Hatton has renounced the position. Mayweather has repeatedly said he wants to step up to the 140 pound class and fight for the championship and now he has his opportunity to fight Vivian for the title. Vivian would love that fight, and now it is up to Mayweather to step up to the plate."

Didn't Warren say Urkal was going to be Vivian's manditory? It's funny how Harris is going to make an assload of money against Mayweather.

Eiuther way, Warren just can't deliver the big fights any more.

Harris v Mayweather :D better than watching Harris v Hatton

Seems like it worked out a hell of alot better for Harris than Hatton.

Just imagine if Hatton had taken the fight and won, he'd be in line for a shot at Mayweather possibly

That is it in a nutshell Bennie, I doubt Warren could have made Thompson - Haye. Something would have killed the deal.

i used to think that but his behaviour when he took over the Klitschko's bad mouthed his old partner Lewis, and then got dumped led me to be believe that his a fistic whore. Goes where the money is and has no scruples at all. Still by gfetting blown out what comes around goes around.....

then again Im biased when it comes to Lennox we all know this.

I would take what Manny says with a pinch of salt, he may be a great trainer, but he talks a heap load of shit when it comes to his own fighters.

Vivian Harris is notoriously difficult to deal with, even his own promoters

It's pretty easy to claim they were going to offer 50%, where's the proof? Funny that Vivian claimed it was 40% they were going to offer him.

It's all smoke and mirrors as usual in the boxing world, and it entirely depends on who you believe....I just don't know any more, I really dont.

Damn it! why must all my heroes fall Hatton, Calzaghe, Naz has disappeared. Just when I'm telling my mates not to judge Eubank by the way he acts and that he was a good boxer and a decent bloke he goes and does a f*cking McDonalds commercial :x ,

Spose I better resign myself to the fact that haye is gonna win the IBO title and make 20 defences :D

oh well there's always danny Williams

I very much get the impression Haye means business...he's taking a big risk facing Carl at this stage of his career.

Oh yeah, he does.

From speaking to him,I get the impression that he is just not interetsted in beating low grade fighters. He'd rather get beat in a good fight with a guy better than him.

Yeah i was only joking about the 20 defenses thing, it's really refreshing listening to Hyae being interviewed particularly after the Arthur Williams fight, when he said something like he was trying to send a message out to the other British prospects that they should be facing quality opposition, lets just hope he's got the goods to back it up :TU:

I quite fancy having a tenner on him against Thompson I think he's about 3/1.

I RATE HIM, VERY HIGHLY, i think he wants to conquer the cruisers before his inevitable switch to h/weight in a few years.

Getting a bit ahead of myself but I truly believe he has the talent to do so.

Seems a nice chap too and heralds from my neck of the woods, orpington ten mins away from me!
