School pupils in Flint enjoy training session from professional boxer Tom Doran

SCHOOL pupils were thrilled to enjoy a training session from a Welsh professional boxer at their school.
Ysgol Maes Hyfryd learners aged between 14 and 19 underwent lessons from Tom Doran at school yesterday.
He taught the pupils from the Flint specialist school different boxing stances, techniques he applies and workout stations they can use.
They also endured circuit sessions with the professional boxer to learn all about the training he does for his fights.
Tom held the WBC international middleweight title in 2016 and fought as an amateur for Shotton Amateur Boxing Cub in his early career.
Kirsty Molyneux, teacher at the school, said: “It was fabulous, they absolutely loved it.
“We want to thank Tom for taking time out of his day to teach the students.
“We’re so grateful for him coming down to do this.
”Students were really keen to do the training and the aspect of the class was really ideal for them.”
