Has Anyone Seen a Fight at Madison Square Garden? Advice Needed

Post by caldo2025 »

I'm hoping that one to two people could help me out with this one. I'm heading into the city to catch the GGG/Jacobs fight next month and i'm about to secure tickets but just looking for some advice first.

There are tons of tickets left as you could imagine on St. Patty's Weekend. I'm looking for any kind of advice you could give. There are tons of section 200-300 tickets left for low costs but the seating chart makes these seats look really far away from the action. There are some section 100-110 in the 600-900 range per that i'm leaning towards but wonder if its worth paying double, triple for those seats.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated fellas. I know i'm a dick but put your sword down for a second if you could and help me out. It's my first big fight in person so i want to do it right.

The garden has seating that is further from the action than most other venues. The closer the better.

LOL. That means you're not a dick. Anyone who calls themselves one automatically isn't, with few exceptions.

Totally agree with the others. Ive seen about 10 fights there but not one in probably 20 years. I've sat ringside as well as "obstructed view" as well as as far back as you can get there. If you are more intent on really watching the fight vs 'being there' with nosebleeds...stay at home

Good example: You can see them scrap, see the types of punches, but if one of them gets rocked....it will be the crowd letting you know.

Not sure what your budget is, but I'd aim to sit in the front/middle of sections 106-108 or 116-118. Those seats would get you good view of the action at an ok price. The floor can be annoying because people standing, walking in front, etc. The 200/300 section isn't all that great for boxing, IMO. It's a little too far way from the action, but just for the at the fight feeling, you'll get that with the crowd noise, etc.

Not sure what you are willing to ly down, but I used to be able to get discounted tickets at MSG. I could look into for you, if you are interested?

Thanks armageto. This is the advice i was looking for. After doing some research, I was thinking that if i had to go with section 200 or 300 then i'd prefer to watch it on tv so you confirmed that to be true. So i'm going to lock down section 105 tickets today. They have some in the first row which is probably the best of the worst seats in the place. $1500 for 2 tickets is a lot but seeing a big fight has been on my bucket list for awhile.

Thanks again! Much appreciated.

No problem sir. If I was still at home, I'd definitely go to this card. Enjoy the fights..... :TU:

Saw the prices time ago not worth it unless you want upper decks, not close to sell .

Lennox Lewis v Michael Grant
Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones
Miguel Cotto v Antonio Margarito 2

Seen these, NYC is moody on boxing but every once in awhile they get a good one.

They're asking too much money for tickets at a fight like this.
