The last fighter to go abroad and challenge for major belt?

I know Damaen Kelly did a while back against Pacheco.
The last high profile case was Naseem, am I right? Trying to think of who has done it in between.

Of course, forgot about them. Silly bastard. I think Naseem was the last fight to actually go over and do a number on American fighters though, last I can think of anyway. Never actually challenged for a title however.

Slightly different case I think, Lewis had to fight abroad really to maximise the profits, you couldn't fight for a world heavyweight title at home and make the same money. He defended it against Bruno though at Cardiff Arms park..

One of my favourites was the Paul Ingle win over Junior Jones for the IBF title.
Jones was past his best, but it was a stunning performance from Paul at MSG. 8)

True enough, Clarke was Vargas's first defence after he had won the IBF Light Middleweight title off Campas. Howard was intimidated more than anything by Vargas i think.

Fernando had a lot of respect for Clarke after the fight (he did a respectful job and looked in fantastic shape). Vargas would often name drop Clarke in his interviews in his future championship fights - and in a positive sense aswell.
I think Howard Eastman fought Joppy afterwards.
Lets not forget, only for one fight did Hamed "Challenge" for a title in America and that was vs Soto.
