Despite what is said about Eubank senior, he is a bright bloke and i think he speaks with logic a lot of the time. The fact he is unique is used to ridicule him but listen to his rationale and it makes good sense. Its no bad thing that greedy promoters like Hearn and Warren speak negatively of him, in fact its quite an endorsement in many respects. And remember, we are only told the situation from Warren and Hearn's perspective, whose intentions are to line their own pockets and that of their TV paymasters' pockets at the fighters' expense.

It was interesting that Khan recently commented how poor Brook's deal to fight GGG was in comparison to his own deal for fighting Canelo.

But Eubank Sr. had the opportunity to give his version of events regarding his son's proposed fight with Golovkin and when asked last night he declined, saying that it was all in the past. Presumably answering such questions was why he was on the show. As he's not normally shy in coming forward it gave the impression that he didn't have much to offer as a feasible response to Hearn.
The spin he's putting on the relevance of his son and his IBO title is a bit of an insult to fans - didn't he say something like "the one who makes the most noise is the champion" and I hope I'm wrong but to me the early signs aren't promising for the Eubanks and ITV. If Eubank Sr. excused himself from fights with James Toney and Roy Jones Jr. because "fights with them put years on your life" I can only wonder what excuses he will dream up for his own son to use to avoid an opponent?
At least he gave his version of events as to why he didn't go to Barry Hearn's birthday bash - because the Hearns didn't offer to pay for him to be picked up and driven there. Jeez.

To be fair to senior he has answerd that question several times previously. Hearn pumps out the rhetoric that the fighter "owns" the ppv show. Eubank senior therefore tried to exercise control and ownership of the show on behalf of junior which Eddie didnt like and wouldnt tolerate. So actually the headline fighter doesnt "own" the show.

Eubank also wanted his son to have a greater income from the fight. He didnt want to share so much of the pie with sky and matchroom - which is quite understandable given the dangers of fighting ggg.

Eddie and Barry Hearn have been arrogant and safe and smug with their sky box office monopoly, which has givem then huge power and is very unhealthy for British boxing. Fighters can take their offer or fall into obscurity on channel 5 or allegedly where there isnt any exposure or money. Credit to Eubank senior, he told Hearn to stick it and has ensured his son has lost none of the exposure that might be expected when you walk away from sky/matchroom.

Im not saying junior is a world beater and im tired of junior and senior's hyperbole while fighting mediocrity but it is good when the little man takes on the promotional powerhouses.

Think about this, what relevance has it got to do with boxing fans that Eubank may asked for a driver to go to Barry Hearn's birthday? Its just smear on Eddie's part, whether its true or not. Perhaps at the time Eubank was broke and couldnt afford to get there... Who knows but quite frankly who gives a flying feck about something so trivial and insignificant...
