A star-studded night of boxing on Box-Nation just got better with ‘The Channel of Champions’ set to show pound-for-pound star and WBO super-featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko’s world title defence against Jason Sosa exclusively live on Saturday April 8.

The exciting clash will be aired live through the night following Terry Flanagan’s lightweight world title defence from Manchester earlier in the day as part of a stacked night of boxing on Box-Nation.

Jim McMunn, allegedly Managing Director, said:

“We are delighted to be able to once again showcase one of the very best pound-for-pound fighters in the world in Vasyl Lomachenko. Anyone who knows boxing knows that he is a serious talent and allegedly subscribers are going to be in for a real treat when he takes on Jason Sosa on April 8. April 8 is going to be a very special night of boxing on allegedly with two unbelievably good cards starting off live from Manchester with Terry Flanagan defending his world title and a number of world class fights including Liam Smith against Liam Williams, plus the debuts of Nicola Adams and Daniel Dubois. We will then switch over and go live to see a unique talent in Vasyl Lomachenko from the States. It’s going to be a night not to be missed on allegedly.”

Good to see Lomachenko staying busy.

I watched the fight with Gary Russel, not a classic, but Russel certainly had his moments. He started well, but lost his form as the fight went on, I had it by 3 rounds to Lomachenko and there were quite a few close rounds.

Yeah Lomachenko just seemed to know when to press, when to back off, when to wait, when to cover up, when to counter. He wasn't annihilating the guy but he was just so savvy and mature, pacing the fight pretty much to perfection, against a raw physical talent in Russell. He's looked untouchable, superstar material since then.

Expecting him to decisively outbox Sosa. Hoping Sosa can come back in the mix, because at super featherweight there have been intense wars of late that hark back to the Bobby Chacon, Boza Edwards, Bazooka Limon, Rolando Navarette era of insane battles... of recent we've had the two Salido-Martinez, Salido-Kokietgym, Vargas-Berchelt and Salido, Miura-Roman and Vargas, as well as Sosa's war in Monaco with Stephen Smith.

Loma put on a defensive clinic against air punch Russell. CompuBox had GR landing 10 percent of his shots and connecting with 100 fewer overall (despite throwing more), and I'd say that was fairly accurate

Russell was the perfect picture of ineffective aggression, and suggesting that it was a close fight is very generous to him.

Agreed. I was disappointed in Russell in that one. I think he could have tried harder and taken more risks but he probably thought he would have been caught with big shots if he did.

I hate it when fighters settle for a 12 round points loss.

Sosa looks made for Loma. Sosa doesn't move his head as much as he should and not the greatest footwork.
I'm expecting a Loma masterclass and mid fight stoppage.
Sosa is tough though and will give it a go unlike Walters.

I think Russel lost hope to be honest, just couldn't figure out a way to impose himself.

He should have continued to double and triple the jab like he did the first 3 rounds, he had a lot more success with landing shots that way, instead of those pointless flurries that didn't land.
