Sounds an intriguing prospect!
Using small hall shows to promote Matchroom's youngsters, some of whom don't get much exposure as lower-card fighters on Hearn's bigger bills.

allegedly has been signing a lot of great young fighters lately, and this seems a counter action from Eddie.

Exciting times for young, hungry fighters.

Fantastic idea. They do the same in Mexico, hence fighters come out of there and to our attention with lots of bouts under their belts, not that it always means anything.
The U.K. Is having a glory period of boxing right now, and bringing up new talent will help sustain that. Hearn has been riding it, and obviously profiting, but also gaining clout as a top promoter who increasingly can make top match-ups.
Setting up Scots, Irish, Welsh and English youngsters together must gain better, well rounded up and comers.
If only other countries offered new professional fighters the opportunities.

This kind of thing is long overdue.
There's too many guys chasing a limited number of slots on the main televised bouts.

Is this going to be televised? Is he getting more TV time to make room for it?

Looks like some decent fights, I hope Isaac Chamberlain gets an okay opponent with him already beating Camacho and Henshaw.

I believe the live shows on Fight Pass did truly atrocious numbers, and were effectively pointless. Seems a solid and clever alternative though, and gives a great chance for the smaller boxing cities as well as the the boxers to thrive.

Hearn's already said they've pencilled in about 5 of these for this year.
Really hope we see the lads step up on these shows, don't mind them in with bodies up to a certain point, but testing their metal when they're ready is key. They're fighters after all, not footballers.

Sky certainly aren't perfect but I have no idea why people persist with this line of thinking. Kovalev Ward, Degale Jack, Frampton Santa Cruz and Crolla Linares were or are all on normal Sky in the space of a few months.

Joshua aside, how many PPV shows do Sky do? Haye Bellew, Brook Golovkin and Frampton Quigg is the lot since 2015 isn't it?

Think these are going to be on Sky Sports. Hopefully they have the sense to stick the shows on that Sky Mix channel and give the lads some exposure.

Saw it advertised, but much like "small hall shows being on fight pass" I'll believe it when I see it. I think this might just be a one-off. Hope it's not just limited to York Hall though and it travels.

No these shows are in addition to the dates Eddie already has. He confirmed that at the start of the week in an interview with Kugan.

Would make sense for these shows to go out on SKY Sports Mix. The channel has a reach of around 10 million.

Eddie also suggested parts of these cards will stream for free on Facebook. The undercard fights will stream from 6pm and will end when the TV broadcast starts around 8:30pm.

Seems like a good idea. Wonder if the casuals will buy into it?

How many consecutive Joshua PPVs have there been already? 3? 4? Anyway, Sky are effectively putting on 3 PPVs within 3 months (Haye-Bellew, Joshua-Klitschko, Brook-Spence), so it clearly looks like the incidents are increasing.

Yeah and you'd fancy AJ to fight twice more this year and Brook at least once more. That's potentially another three especially if Brook beats Spence. Khan if he fights PAC could end up on there. Frampton v Selby with a STACKED CARD! Sky are dirty bastards.

Isaac Chamberlain is the pick of the bunch for me.
A bit of exposure Then I'd stick him into a British title fight end of the year. Beats the Kennedy/Simmons winner IMO.

Good point, I'm sure Hearn mentioned in the same interview coming to the north east but I can't remember if it was in relation to this topic!

I really like him but I think he's got a weird style that maybe doesn't work well?
No rush in him fighting for the British, definitely get that English out the way before the end of the year. Wanna see him look more mature.

No, I am basically paying for boxing only, don't care about the rest. Which is why I ended up cancelling Sky, it's crap value for money for a boxing fan, especially since most big fights are on PPV anyway.
