Harrison is a good fighter, he brings power but also got KO'd by Willie Nelson in an upset a couple of years back, he's regrouped with a few wins including a KO over Fernando Guerrero

Hurd is unbeaten in 19, coming off a career best KO win over JoJo Dan I which I remember being impressed by, this should be a decent fight, both guys carry power, ive seen more of Harrison and he's always a good watch, I see this as a 50/50 but I'll go for Harrison to KO Hurd midway

Really looking forward to this one, I quite like both men although I think they may be just a little below elite class although would love to be proved wrong. Hurd has a lovely languid feel to his boxing but at times that results in him shipping punches someone with his agility should be able to slip. Harrison has a very nice jab and was winning the Nelson fight for me before getting tagged and stopped. It is a decent fight and one that has the feel of someone getting stopped at some stage, I am with you despite Hurd being the favourite I quite like Harrison to find the punch to perhaps turn this around at some stage.

Good fight that and a great shot from Hurd to end things, i thought Harrison was the better boxer throughout and had him pulling away after 6, he was outboxing and outworking Hurd who looked a bit befuddled by Harrison's side to side movement and Tony was the only one throwing power punches as Jarrett was just relying on the occasional jab, Hurd's power was the difference though and Harrison showing again that he hasn't got great punch resistence but he does have a big heart, I wasn't too impressed with Hurd TBH he looked a bit one paced, even when Harrison was reeling around the ring one shot away from going down, Hurd was a bit plodding I thought and allowed him to recover a couple of times

Still it was a great right hand for the KO so credit where credits due

I hate hearing Harrison has no heart, he has tons of heart just lacks stamina and chin. If fights were 6 rounds long he'd be the best at 154.

Enjoyed the fight,agree with you about Hurd,was disappointed overall with him,I'm sure his stamina will improve for this,it basically boiled down to that one man could take a punch and the other couldn't.it'll be hard to match Harrison in the future ,he doesn't hold a punch too well

Did they say what Hurd was weighing on the night? He looked like he was nearing 180

Been a fan of Hurd for a while now.

He looked out of his depth in the early rounds but shows a toughness that Harrison can only wish he possessed.

Still not sure if he's ready for the top fighters but in todays boxing you don't have to be to hold an alphabelt

Decent fight after the first 3 rounds. Great finishing shot by Hurd be interesting following him the IBF rankings don't look too appealing though. Michel soro would be a good fight.

One thing I do well is keep my composure. We knew landing shots to the body and keeping the pressure on him was going to eventually break him down. I was using the jab a lot; he has a great jab, and we wanted to win the jab battle. One thing we didn’t expect, that he was doing very good, was sliding out the side door with his movement. He caught me one time in my eye; my vision was kind of blurry, but I shook it off. I got a little winded in the eighth. I knew I would get stronger and he would slow down. We timed it perfectly–when he came with a jab, we came over the top with a right hand. We practiced that a lot in the gym and landed it in the ninth round. I would give my performance a 7.5, 8. Tony shows that he has talent over and over again, and he showed it tonight; he caught me with some great shots. Whatever happens [next], Team Swift is ready for





I really liked this, he's honest and humble about what went wrong and being a bit hurt. Get the feeling he will become a much better fighter for that fight

agree 100%, its impressive to see a boxer's post-fight reaction being so self-aware and analytical, a classy response all round, I'll look out for him in the future and wish him well on that basis alone

Hurd executed the game plan and got the job done. I think he was doing much better throughout the fight than the commentators and fans alike gave him credit for. The punch stats show he threw and landed more throughout the fight. After 8 the judges had it 77-75x2 for Harrison and 76-76, but after the 9th Hurd would have been pulling away. It wasn't a 6 round fight and you could tell by the 6th Harrison wasn't going to finish the fight.

I consider Hurd to be a prospect with a belt, give him a couple more learning fights and he will be tough to beat. He is truly huge for the weight and has power and good punch resistance.
