So let's get this straight. He has been meaning to pop and see the doctor for a check up but went through a training camp with it then decided to get a check up by flying a couple thousand mile round trip a couple days before the fight?! Hmm, sure sure.

He decided to send red herrings for what what reason? Whatever reason you want to give - to make Bellew relax, think he is in bad shape, give Bellew a false sense of security etc etc all fall apart by the fact he immediately "reveals" it is a red herring. Makes no sense. Would be a red herring and believable if he just did not come out to say it is a red herring.

It all smacks of him being injured and now trying to make Bellew not know there is a weak spot and issue. If anything, him saying it was a "red herring" actually suggests the opposite.

There is clearly something going on but fighters get injuries in camp, he has always been prone to everything that could happen, however looking at him last night it will only come into play if the fight goes past the 5th I think. It could in actual fact completely muck up Bellew's plans because common sense says he has too drag it late now so the "injuries" come into play.

However, will that mean that he tucks up more, is a bit more passive and merely looks to move and survive with the odd flurry back at Haye instead of trying to land power shots himself.

Equally Haye will be even more intent (if he needed it) in getting it over asap before the "injuries" come to the fore.

Maybe he had no intention of fighting and signed up to cause maximum hassle to Hearn and Bellew and the Doctor there to sign Haye's sick note that he can't fight ?

Hearns rage would be epic However, not good for fans who would lose out again.

His shoulder looked ok when he shoved and "hit" Bellew the other week?

I've heard a few rumours his right hand has been playing up.

Looked fine in workouts though.

Was it a German surgeon who did his shoulder operation ?

Most big punchers suffer with hand problems.

Hes injured. No doubt about it in my opinion.

I don't think he needs to throw it often to land big on Bellew.
Be interesting to see what gloves he uses. Can't see him using Grant's with his dodgy hands.

As the poster said there would be absolutely no point him coming clean about lying about the injury now. He must be injured I guess it just depends how badly as to whether it will impact the result.

All will become clear soon. Can't believe how excited I am about a lob sided fight.

Dont worry about Hayemaker. Coming in solid and looking sharp. David up for the job and should be over in 3 rounds. Tony hasnt the tools and doesnt possess the power or the speed to trouble Hayemaker. This is going to be brutal and quick.

Most, if not all fighters, carry some sort of injury into a fight. I imagine Bellew has some issues and Haye probably does as well. All a big fuss over nothing.

Even with a shoulder injury, Haye could beat Bellew with one arm.

Certainly injured then, likely a bad one as you don't just jet off to Germany a few days before the fight unless is for a big reason, but he'll know calling it off right now could be curtains on what's left of his career, and rightly sees this mismatch as still winable - probably shoulder as TB crew will have a mole somewhere.

What a laughably bad PPV this pantomime is.

I am glad my garbled original post was understood. I think that he knows that he cannot afford another pull out, career would be destroyed and over and it is unlikely fans would forgive, risk buying tickets in the future and Sky would not be willing to invest in a future PPV with him involved with such a high change or a pull out and suffering a financial loss. Too many other PPV options without the Haye gamble.

Even if his arm was broken, I think he would fight this weekend tbh

I don't think Haye would've released a photo of his surgeon if there was an injury, he would've kept it quiet. All mind games and wind ups.

Haye plays these games to promote his fights every single time, and every single time you all eat them up.

David Haye could KO Tony Bellew with one hand and an injured little toe. Cynical mismatch unworthy of discussion.

Just watch the open workout he did yesterday evening. He'll be fine for the fight. Yeah, he may have an injury and some pain, but he probably does for most of his fights.

Would he be allowed injections before the fight for the pain?

most be abit easier for heavyweights as he doesn't need to do any cardio to keep weight off if slightly injured, he can just rest

If Haye is not good to go I'm gonna be pissed. I'm so excited even though it's a one sided fight but you know with boxing in a fight, anything can happen #TeamBellew

Haye is a prick and doesn't give two shîts about what anyone thinks of him. Bellew is a prick and he's trying to act the good guy which makes him even more of a prick! Bad PPV indeed!
