I didn't know this but the ticketing companies who scalp the punters have software which allows them to buy hundreds/thousands of tickets immediately the sites open up, effectively forcing individual purchasers to the back of the queue. Some can even purchase before the sites open.
The British government will within 10 days introduce legislation banning this practice making it a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment.
New York City did this last year.

Do you mean the secondary market sites that can sometimes be promoting fights in association with Matchroom boxers?

If so, this a massive difference to what we have been told before, although it is what many thought

Does this mean that the fact that these sites are advertised everywhere on Matchroom shows, effectively makes Eddie Hearn a criminal?

This would be great if true. Boxing is big in the U.K. but no way is it big enough to be selling out in minutes the way it has been. All the tickets still sitting on these sites are testament to that. If it was all fair and above board, as long as we were on the site when the tickets were released, we'd get a couple. That's fair. Be brilliant to finally be able to go and see a big show again.

Bye bye to Stub Hub etc, got beyond a joke now the way they hoover up the tickets to any big event or concert

Good news. Do you have a link to the detail - is the legislation definitely coming into force in 10 days, or is it just being set before Parliament in 10 days in a Bill for them to consider?

Yes it would. The independent report that the government asked for on secondary touting said that there needed to be places like these sites to provide an option otherwise it would go to the black market but i think they missed out the crucial aspect of the secondary sites scooping up all of the tickets.

If the govt has decided to do this then i am ready to give them credit despite despising them

Ministers will table relevant amendment to the Digital Economy Bill in the next 10 days. It will then be required to be voted on by the Commons before going to the Lords.

If promoters used some of their vast profits to issue tickets with pics/names etc, there would be no tout market. As Hearn said, selling tickets is a ball ache. Far easier for him to give them all to StubHub and they sell them on.
