Bellew ate all the pies

You say that but it turned into what looked like a 50year old pub bloke having a fight against cleverly, Tony gassed badly got sloppy and want practically cuddling for the later rounds, he was just lucky cleverly was fed up of boxing and injured at that point (as well as not being particularly good).Stuarty30 wrote:Bellew gets a lot of stick because he hasn't got the Adonis type physique but I'd bet he's as fit as they come. If it came down to a war of attrition tomorrow night my money would be on Bellew but Haye will have too much power for him.
Exactly this. It's boxing not bodybuilding. However I still think he's onto a severe hidingTuan_Jim wrote:Bellew's soft physique is no different to the majority of modern heavyweights.
Spot on. Bellew was 114 pound 14 pounds of which was excessive fat. Haye was 225 pound and all muscle. Haye essentially has 20 pound ish weight advantage in this fight, not 5 like lying Eddie was claiming. Bellew could not be even arsed to get in shape and maybe build up some muscle. That says he is resigned to loose. He will run around, as soon as Haye lands few good shots he will quit and back to CW.crusader wrote:Most of the decent soft heavyweights (e.g Chisora and Whyte) have bigger frames than him.....he's looking very skinny fat and out of place at HW to me.
I wonder if the casuals will be saying stuff like Bellew would have won if Haye hadn't fractured his face, and knocked him out cold.Tarkus wrote:Spot on. That fight was awful. Bellew has proved before he can fight into the later stages.Finn wrote:You say that but it turned into what looked like a 50year old pub bloke having a fight against cleverly, Tony gassed badly got sloppy and want practically cuddling for the later rounds, he was just lucky cleverly was fed up of boxing and injured at that point (as well as not being particularly good).Stuarty30 wrote:Bellew gets a lot of stick because he hasn't got the Adonis type physique but I'd bet he's as fit as they come. Of course, Eddies favorite excuse is that his fighter fractured his skull. In a boxing match, imagine that.Finn wrote:I wonder if the casuals will be saying stuff like Bellew would have won if Haye hadn't fractured his face, and knocked him out cold.Tarkus wrote:Spot on. People always say this yet there are very few examples of really good fat fighters in history. Not saying Bellew is fat per se, he's just soft and doughy. The point is the physique is a reflection of the preparation in many cases. Great fighters don't half ass their preparation and their bodies more often that not reflect this.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Exactly this. It's boxing not bodybuilding. Hardly need PEDs to look in better shape than that....Sklar wrote:Bellew doesn't use PEDS. He looks in decent enough shape to me.
