Some people seeing tonight's fight as another example of Haye 'conning' the fight fans out of money. But I was actually impressed with his heart and grit.

Both fighters were badly hurt and showed heart to continue. Credit to Bellew for the win.

The same. He's a brave bloke in the ring but his career choices are incredibly cynical. Bellew was a banana skin.

People on here worship Haye so, of course, they will think that he got the moral victory and his reputation has been enhanced.

As a human being, my respect for him went up. He made no excuses for losing.
As a fight, my respect also went up for him. He took a hell of alot of shots, and refused to quit.
He beat the count in round eleven and would have continued on, except his corner threw in the towel.
So, all in all, my respect has went up for him. But I am glad he finally was humbled by someone.

Bellew did win, but seeing him on tv saying he knew Haye couldn't take his power or he was going to drag him deep after that fight was sickening. Haye was walking the fight without doing aything and his ankle gave, Bellew didn't do anything towards that luck that befell him. In fact he was blowing harder than Haye going into round six. He won because Haye's ankle gave completely on him, the man couldn't even stand up. Anyone pretending it was anything other than that, or pretending they picked the fight the correct way are lying to themselves.

Embarrassing night for British boxing all round. Bellew? Imo tonight gives him nothing, Haye conned everyone by suggesting he was even 50% of what he was and that was before the injury. We end up with one of the worst cruiserweght strap holders in recent years banging on about "beating" a 10% David Haye...at heavyweight!
Just imagine what Joshua or Fury would have done to either tonight...murder.

My gripe with Haye and his camp would be why if they knew he was carrying the injury didn't he just stand his ground and use the jab rather than try to move around and blow his Achilles completely? Bellew didn't punch him through the ropes his leg buckled when he was trying to duck the punches. Yes that was Bellew who was throwing the punches but he didn't blast him through the ropes.

However, to try and make out Bellew was the architect of some amazing gameplan is ridiculous. Prior to Haye's ankle going, how many shots had he landed. He planned on Haye gassing, but Haye didn't gas at all.

Bellew is the WBC cruiserweight champion and isn't that much smaller than Haye. Haye was never a phenomenal heavyweight and he's not done anything decent in years.
I don't think that Haye is the monster that most people seem to think he is. Haye's fast and powerful, but there's a good chance that Bellew can stand up to it for longer than people think.
If Bellew can land a few times then old, inactive Haye could be in trouble, especially after the first few rounds.

Haye took his licks tonight but I have little respect for him. Felt like the chickens had come home to roost. Looks like if anyone's going to hospital it'll be him. Hope he has a long wait in A & E .
