Errr he looks a bit on the plump side...he's got some work to do.Loki wrote:He won't be returning on 13th May. Have you seen him lately?
Check out his twitter feed. He's at least 25st and looks like a 40 year old. Actually, he looks older than 40.

I hope he does return, will make it interesting.
Plump. That's putting it mildly. He looked terrible when I saw a photo of him on holiday a couple of months ago. I do want him to come back, but I do a feeling he can't be arsed. He'd rather eat kebabs and bump charlie.punchoutsb wrote:Errr he looks a bit on the plump side...he's got some work to do.Loki wrote:He won't be returning on 13th May. Have you seen him lately?

I wouldn't expect anything but a tomato can on May 13, and I wouldn't have a problem with it. While Fury did this to himself, there's no point jumping in the deep end that soon. Try and lose some blubber, beat a bum, and then go for it the following fight. That should give him enough time to actually get in shape.Loki wrote:Plump. That's putting it mildly. If he does come back, it won't be 13th March and if he does, it will be against a tomato can.
Yeah what kind of asshole has mental health issues stopping him from having a fight that win or lose could have easilly set him for life.fanman wrote:Must be the most shameful vacating of the h/w title in history. Could have been set for life and had a good chance to beat klitschko again. It will be a long road back no doubt.
Why on earth would he want to avoid fighting someone he beat easilly again for a much larger payday?diddy wrote:Disgraceful ducking of the Wlad rematch. He's figuring Joshua removes Wlad from the picture and he never has to face him again. Almost as bad as Lennox ducking the Vitali rematch. Maybe even worse since Lennox was an old man and Fury is in his prime. Shameful.
Larry Holmes vacated his WBC world heavyweight title to face Marvis Frazier in a non-title bout, instead of defending his belt against Greg Page.fanman wrote:Must be the most shameful vacating of the h/w title in history. A fit fury wouldlnt trouble Joshua or wilder , he'd beat them comfortablycandyslim wrote:The heavyweight landscape is much enhanced by having Tyson Fury a part of it ... even the 400lb version I suspect.
If he gets his act together he is one of only a few boxers I would expect to trouble Joshua or Wilder but he desperately needs to shift some of that timber first. I'm not angry at his ducking the re-match if ducking is what it was, just deeply disappointed. I would love to see a fully fit Fury against any of AJ, Wilder, Parker, Ortiz, Povetkin, and a few others besides.
it is over for him.Boxing101101 wrote:May 13

No way he faces Ustinov in first fight since 2015. He's not Vitali Klitschko. I'd like to see him return, but given he's clearly deranged, has a PED suspension hanging over him and is in worse shape than Johnny Vegas, it's doubtful at this point.HomicideHenry wrote:@ all the people shitting on Fury for taking on a regular opponent in his return....
He's just doing a comeback in the proper way. You don't dive head first into the deep waters. You work your way back, and he's doing it in the right way that's fair to everyone else in the division. He isn't like some assholes claiming "championship emeritus" and getting a title shot without having earned it. He gave up his belts like a man, and he's intending to earn them back as a man should: no excuses, just hard work.
As for his shape.... I suspect he's weighing in at 325 pounds.... so come fight night I suspect he'll come in around possibly 265-275 pounds. Quite heavy for him, but he's fought as high as that before (Joe Abell), and made it look like an exhibition bout. I suspect the comeback opponent will be someone within the top 20-25. Wouldn't it be fun if it were someone like Briggs?Though I think Ustinov sounds more likely, considering the two men have been in talks in the past before. That'd be an interesting contest considering the Russian is nearly 6'8" and usually weighs in around the 290 pound mark, and since he's lost to Travis Walker (his most recent loss), it'd seem a safe bet considering the only worthwhile name he's ever beaten is old David Tua.
I'm sure Peter Fury will be 'no nonsense' as usual and make Tyson shed the pounds and be effectively in proper shape for such a contest, after all Peter's mentality is a 19th century regimen rather than a 21st century one where hard work and continuous sparring trumps weight lifting, dieting & nutrition, etc.I'm glad Tyson's back and we'll see whether he's capable of doing the task ahead and getting those titles back. Whether you like him or hate him, technically he is the lineal heavyweight champion of the world.
I wouldn't discount the possibility Oiky but I have this nagging image of TF lying on the ring-floor with Steve Cunningham standing over him.Oiky wrote: A fit fury wouldlnt trouble Joshua or wilder , he'd beat them comfortably
. . . or at least heavy bag likenesses of all of them (although he would probably cancel the fight with the WKlit heavy bag)Oiky wrote:He'd beat all of them
