That's the point of the OP, what if they're getting paid off to continue the Wilder cash cow circus.

Wilder is not very good but he does have KO power, in addition he has been managed extremely well. He is a cash cow and will be protected until it is deemed time to feed him to one of the other champs in a unification bout. I don't see him beating either Joshua or Parker but I don't see him being cashed out anytime soon; it had been a long time since America had a Heavyweight champion and he is too valuable a commodity.

Protected: yes / Hoax: no

Wilder is not a hoax. Wilder is not great and if he is, he certainly hasn't proven that yet.

There is a tremendous amount of room between hoax and great. Wilder is an excellent puncher and still undefeated and its not Deontay's fault that Povetkin is a drug addict.

I think Wilder would beat everyone but Wlad and Joshua, possibly Ortiz, so that's pretty good in my book.

He was mandated into the Povetkin fight, and when that fell through it was right back to crap like shot Arreola (short notice fight), Wawrzyk, and Washington. Nine years of weak fights cant be blamed on one bout not happening

Cannot disagree, with the possible exception of Washington. While he is no world beater, I do think that he can be competitive at the gatekeeper level.

He can be competitive at the lucky to draw with Mansour level. Nagy Aguilera also gave him hell.

Perhaps Wilder can eventually measure up to a run like Cedric Boswell, wawrzyk & shot Rahman.

Id say unbeaten Chambers, Huck, and Chagaev were better than Stiverne and co (since this always comes down to Wilder vs Povetkin for some people)

Hell, was Boswell any worse than Szpilka, Duhaupas, or Molina?
