Would Haye have won if the injury did not occur in rd 6?

I think Haye would have stopped Bellew in rounds 8/9 ish.....

Its hard to say. Most will stand by what they initially said a blow out in 1 or 2 rounds. I think it could have gone to points. I just didnt see Haye stopping Bellew after the 2nd round.

He would've won comfortably in my opinion, either late stoppage or wide points.

He was already up 4-1 and had settled down a bit. He was starting to set his shots up better and connect more often, and if anyone looked to be slowing it was Bellew. The people who thought it was a super close fight until then are, in my view, giving Bellew too much credit because Haye looked surprisingly bad, and they are probably conflating taking his punches better than expected with actually doing enough to win the rounds.

I can't see much ground for Bellew winning that isn't based on Haye's injury, although I guess someone could say that if he didn't snap it in round 6, he was just going to snap it in round 7!

Yeah he'd have ended up stopping him I reckon. Then again I predicted Haye would win in 1/2 round blow out so wtf do I know

It's been asked a thousand times, would Vitali have beaten Lewis if he hadn't been cut etc, etc, personally i think Bellew would have won anyway simply because he's been active,Haye's best punches bounced of Bellew so i can't see how Haye could have won and we'll never know.

I think Haye would have won pretty easily. Bellew was starting to Blow, and had landed very little at all up to that point, and would have been behind. Haye wasn't looking particularly sharp, but most of the time he was the only one really throwing or landing, in what, was in honesty, until the injury, a dready fight.

I could have seen it going the distance, Haye either due to injury or ring rust, or age, wasn't very accurate, and his timing looked off, though it could have been a balance issue.

Bizarre reasoning when Bellew's shots didn't seem to have any impact on Haye--how exactly was TB going to win then? It's not like a fighter needs to hurt the other to win on points either, and looking at the final scores, I'm pretty sure that Haye was up 4-1 x3, so he was already well on his way to winning before the injury. Whatever he was doing, it was enough to bag the rounds, and if anyone was showing signs of slowing it was Bellew, who was hardly doing anything and seemed to be drifting into pure survival mode.

I'd say it would have gone the distance with Haye winning most of the rounds..

I genuinely think that it was highly likely that Haye would have won - but of course, that is only empty speculation.

I wanted Bellew to win or at least take the fight into the later stages to see what Haye had. However during the fight I feared that there was a real risk of Bellew being taken out at any stage. Haye was trying to load up and in fact, Haye still looked dangerous throwing bombs on one leg.

I think Haye would have properly detonated one of his bombs on Bellew. I appreciate however that Bellew took some decent punches and the fight was apporaching an interesting stage. I recall the commentators stating how Bellew was visibly blowing for air prior to the injury. Though blowing for air doesnt mean youre spent by any means.

Id love to see a rematch.

Credit to Bellew though. He wasnt doing much prior to the injury but staying out of harms way and firing back at intervals was an achievement in itself. The last thing to leave Haye will be his power.

That's it. Haye took Bellew's shots without issue for five rounds. Shots he wouldn't have been eating with a good leg. I just don't see how Bellew would do it. Haye was coming on when his ankle went and he still looked dangerous afterwards, Bellew wasn't fit enough to fight for three full minutes with Haye not moving so how would Bellew have done it?

Probably what I expected and predicted:

"I also expect Haye UD, since he got the media in his pocket, so the money, so they let him win. The cruiserweight ain't big enough to KO Daffy Duck, like Briggs would be."

I believe Haye would have faded badly,my opinion,Bellews shots were supposed to bounce off Haye anyway according to the experts so nothing new there, however Haye was supposed to destroy Bellew with the first right hand punch he landed.

But he didn't fade badly. He went 11 rounds and it was Bellew who faded and was fading before Haye even hurt his foot. Haye was fighting at such a comfortable pace he would have walked 12 rounds.

Fade badly based on what? He hardly had anything coming back at him and his stamina seemed fine.

Haye not blowing out Bellew doesn't = Bellew was going to win without the injury. Haye was still winning the fight by several rounds and it was Bellew who was slowing. The 'it was a very close fight, Bellew was going to win anyway' stuff seems like a bunch of revisionist nonsense to me.

Based on what? The fact Bellew was the only one huffing at the end of round 4?

I think he was up 4-1 x3, which looked right to me. You seemed to have talked yourself into this nonsense about Haye gassing when Bellew was the only one showing signs of tiring.

Convienent to now act like Bellew was going to win all along

Haye was injured coming in imo so it was hardly going to get better. Having said that, had the injury not got any worse then he'd probably have gone on to take it on points, assuming Matchroom allowed that scenario to happen. Bellew didn't do hardly anything when faced with the one legged Haye so the 1 and half legged Haye might have been too much.

im adamant that he was injured walking into the ring which is why he was so flat footed.

He was injured well before that , somebody else on here said he had an injection pre-fight in the said leg .

You guessed an injury. Brilliant. You're clearly struggling with the analysis of the actual fight.
