I'm not surprised that this fight isn't gaining the kind of interest that Thurman/Garcia did and maybe it's a result of that fight not living up to expectations. But do fans really understand how great this fight is going to be? Not even close. We're talking about two guys that combine for 35 knockouts straight. This is going to be a gem.

GGG is one of the best fighters i've witnessed in my lifetime but I really think that he's got his hands full with Jacobs. This is something that GGG freely admits and you don't typically see him make comments like this. I don't think that GGG has been hit by anyone close to as powerful as Jacobs and likewise obviously. Jacobs is faster, taller, longer reach and younger. What happens when GGG gets to the later rounds?

Jacobs says that most people are defeated before they get in the ring with GGG and he's absolutely right. What are some predictions in this fight? Where would you bet your last dollar?

Does Jacobs hit harder than Lemieux? Genuine question, i've not seen much of Lemieux.

I imagine Jacobs is a better boxer and harder to hit but he's got questions about his chin surely?

I'd say Lemieux has better power from the looks of it, but Jacobs is the better all around technician. I'd even venture to say Stevens hits harder than Jacobs. But, it should be a good fight. I can see Jacobs having some early success. His chin doesn't look all that great, unless it was just some freak flash knockdown he suffered against Mora.

Jacobs chin won't stand up to GGG's power. I'm almost certain of that. I still can't get away from the image of Jacobs poleaxed by Pirog a few years ago.

Yes, he could have caused GGG some real problems as well at his best as he was a brilliant inside fighter, an area GGG has weaknesses in. Was also very unorthodox.

If its half as exciting as Hearns v Hagler or Hearns v Roldan it will be awesome. We know all about GGG but Jacobs record is also tremendous. I suspect his attitude and mental strength will be tremendous too.
Definitely the most dangerous opponent for Golovkin.
As the great Ali once said, it these fast and wiry types you have to be most careful of. I'm going for Golovkin early damage/KO. Otherwise all bets are off, and we could see a rerun of Hagler v Mugabe.

If Jacobs doesn't get tagged early this could be a great fight.

I think it will be a much better fight than Thurman vs. Garcia. It could be Fight of the Year. Next week starting Monday, there will be a lot of media attention about this fight.

If there was only one fight I could watch this year, this would be it. Hoping for some technicially brilliant offence by Golovkin as always, expecting Jacobs to be on his bike a bit.

Fight will be over by 6. Nothing special about Jacobs at all. Mediocre boxer with decent pop and speed. It's crazy to think this fight will be close and honestly how I see it, if Jacobs is the best win for GGG and toughest opponent after he inevitably knocks Jacobs out just proves how weak 160 is.

It's almost like these GGG fans hype up his overmatched opponents to make it seem like they are more impressive wins than they actually are. Jacobs is B-class at best and GGG still hasn't fought a A Lister his own size or bigger. Just saying.

This is the biggest problem with this GGG era. You have one camp overhyping opposition to make GGG look good to naysayers. You have the naysayers putting down every opponent so as to lessen GGG's ability and place in history. My opinion is that GGG's opposition has been a lot better than everyone gives him credit for.

I think that GGG is so good that he makes excellent boxers look awful. This era of Middleweights is no different than years past, we just currently have a champion far better than the rest. He's fighting the consensus #2 in his weight class so he should get credit for the win or the loss appropriately

That's a pretty good analogy with Hagler/Mugabe. I bet that's what the fight would look like if it ends up being a good one. The way that Brook landed those few flurries, I can see Jacobs landing but the difference is he doesn't stop after a few punches. He just keeps throwing and throwing and throwing when he lands. So I can see this getting super interesting if he ends up packing enough power to make GGG respect it. Could be very interesting.

Exactly. I really like Jacobs but GGG will walk him down and take him out without too much trouble.

What makes this interesting is the old adage that speed beats power. Especially if speed is equipped with a good chin (sorry Amir).

If it wasn't for the chin issue Jacobs would be clear favourite. Faster hands and feet, better head movement.

Still we have to wait to see what tactics Hunter has prepared here, and whether Jacobs can stick to them. It looked as if Kell Brooks tactics went out of the window after that first exchange with Golovkin.

This fight, like all GGGs fights is laden with menace.

No.. The middleweight division is crap with decent talent but nothing special.. Other than GGG of course and Alvarez if he ever decides to settle down in the division. Trust me I have nothing but high praise for GGG when it comes to his skills as a boxer, but I know what I'm watching and I know who his opponents are and what they're capable of. There are no career defining fights at 160 unless the fight with Alvarez gets made or someone like Andrade makes a big splash at 160. Whether you want to admit it or not, when it comes to talent and all around boxing ability, Alvarez and Andrade are way more of a threat to GGG than anyone else currently at Middleweight. I saw what the overmatched Brook was able to do with GGG, despite it being a beat down, Brook was good enough (just not nearly big and strong enough) to compete with GGG.

But for you to think the current crop of Middleweights is on par with the crop of the past and GGG is just that much better than everyone else you're out of your god damn mind.

I think that a knockout victory over Jacobs will push GGG's resume past Haglers for good. Then if GGG adds on Andrade, Canelo or Charlo then ATG credit will be coming to GGG by his worst critics. You were probably one of the guys that said Lemieux was junk I bet right? GGG's dominance over him was more impressive than you critics give credit for. The Brook win was also big but you don't give him credit for that. Why? You probably gave Hagler credit for his win over Tommy Hearns? You can't have it both ways.

That's because Tommy Hearns is Tommy Hearns, and Kell Brook is Kell Brook. Don't make like GGG beat Hearns just because he beat a fucken welterweight
