I think Glynn Leach was at the end of his tether with Lewis! He had spent years publicly championing LL, only to see him blow it versus McCall when a win would have secured him the Bowe mega fight, scrape past Mercer when it was vital he prove that it was he, and not Tyson or Bowe, who was number 1, and twice fumble with Holyfield when Glynn had predicted a monumental Foreman/Frazier-style demolition job that would at last deliver on all the years of promise. When he botched it, again, versus Rahman, it seemed as if Leach gave up on him.

(This was my impression reading, I don't know if the esteemed Graham Houston is still on the board, would be interesting to hear his take.)
