Sandland has killed this one a bit to be honest!
Still, will be an interesting fight.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised it's going ahead.

It is going ahead but not for an English title. But it's great to see Britains heavies fighting each other in what is the strongest heavyweight division in the world. I think Gorman will be too fast and too strong for Akinlade especially with his work to the body. I rate Akinlade but he's up against a real talent here.

Fight is now a eliminator for English glad it's still on. Thought the board still might allow it for vacant title as others have been sactioned after losses of late.( one lad was stopped and still approved)

An eliminator for the English?
How do people think any of these guys would get on against Cornish or Sexton? They two are apparently contesting the vacant British and I don't really rate either as much better than these two tbh.

I don't rate Cornish but Sexton has at least moved it at domestic level

True. Tamed Marty Rogan when he was on a good run of form. Inactive and seen better days though. Wouldn't surprise me if big Cornish beat him tbh. The fight is an embarrassment to the British title. The board have refused to sanction better fights at other weights for their title.

You're forgetting that Cornish outboxed Joshua for 50 seconds

My bad. It was a masterful display of skill and patience. 50 seconds of the noble art in its purest form

Ok... I know we're all being facetious - but watch the fight.... Cornish completely outboxes Joshua for 50 seconds. Long jabs, blocks every shot. It's basically a masterclass of how to beat Joshua. I think it's the blueprint.
I urge you, just watch:

Fu
ck off with that Joshua
shit.... for the love of Jesus let it go already....
Anyways, Gorman wins.... deceptively fast, fierce body attack, knows how to maximize his size effectively, constant jab.... that's quite a combination to overcome in the heavyweight division especially when it's chalk full of headhunters these days.

It's a damn shame it wont be for the British title, but oh well.... hopefully when Gorman runs through this guy he'll be matched tougher because fighting opponents that he's currently facing isn't really testing his mettle. He needs to bypass the second tiers altogether and go straight for the hardened journeymen.

The worst part is I see what your saying. Still don't rate Cornish.

Was a better fight before Sandland outboxed him.
I favour Gorman to win this. I like the HW division in this country. We have 5-6 world/euro level guys and a lot of youngsters underneath coming close to British level.

this fight makes no sense. Why isn't it Gorman v Sandland now? Akinlade lost his chance when Sandland beat him in what was supposed to be a tune up. Give Sandland the shot now.

Gorman wins this handily. He has a terrific shot selection (switches to the body beautifully) and decent hand speed. I actually think Gorman will finish it at a canter inside the distance.

I know it's only the pads, but he looks pretty bloody decent.

He looks a talent. Nice to see young heavyweights making ground too. Far too many late 20's/30's guys about.
