Great battle. Mukai belied his record of only 3 stoppages in his 14 wins. It was a very good fight. As was the last one when another Japanese fighter came over.
I felt that Rex expended a lot of energy early in the fight, which was risky. He shipped plenty of leather....the top men in the division won’t let him get away with that. I would have liked to have seen him try to establish his jab more. Rex had a 2inch reach advantage on paper - but it looked the other way around at times. Still, a cracking fight. I tend to think of these belts as trinkets....but tge Japanese surely fought like he meant to defend his! :salut:
