He's with hearn and Eddie is too smart for that. Ortiz wouldn't either.

Suppose it's the old case of risk vs reward. Ortiz is one of the best heavyweights around but I don't believe he is the best. I can't see him getting a World title shot this year unless it's back with the WBA circus.

Risk - The guy is a dangerous opponent
Risk - He's failed a drug test and may be a juicer
Reward - You're not going to get massive credit for beating him, he's not that well known with the casuals and he looked crap in his last 2 fights, so a win against him would just be written off as beating an over the hill guy who maybe wasn't that good in the first place
Reward - He doesn't bring a huge payday

I wouldn't be in a hurry to fight him if I were AJ, Wilder or Parker

Ortiz is in a holding pattern until Eddie Hearne decides which way he wants to send him and that decision will probably come after the Wlad-AJ fight. If Wlad wins Ortiz can be enforced as the WBA mandatory to fight Wlad. If AJ wins Ortiz will probably go the WBC route and go after Wilder, to presumably set up AJ-Ortiz unification should he prevail.

And that's absolutely horrible given that this man is at the end of his career. This dude just needs to stay as active as possible.

Is Tyson Fury the only current heavyweight who can move, if not punch? The top heavyweights seem too ponderous to easily beat the likes of Ortiz and Briggs. They just aren't that good.
AJ seems to be an improved version of Frank Bruno and his baptism of fire is just weeks away.

Wilder won't fight Ortiz if Ortiz doesn't have a belt, or WBC mandatory status. In other words, the fight won't happen before he's at least 40 years old, no matter what move Ortiz makes.

Have to agree. I was looking forward to seeing him over here and his last two he's been utter dog shít against lesser opposition. He's certainly not looked like anyone to worry about. He's obviously better than what his last two performances suggest but he's getting on so perhaps he's on the slide. He looks older than what he says he is!

To be truly avoided you have to get yourself into a position to be making the most noise out there IMO, and he just isn't making any noise at all. No fans. Why is he in the UK with Hearn? All seems a bit bizarre to me, and Hearn can't have him lined up for anything other than cannon fodder for AJ; I don't think Hearn views him as a future cash cow at all.

Have you heard anything more on that? I think it would be a terrific matchup...assuming the big baby doesn't continue to blimp up.
