Calzaghe is up against Pemberton or Salem according to the BBC. Arthur will be fighting a stiff.

They'll both be fighting stiffs then.

Well Alex's oppo can't be worse than the lost one: worst headline match-up I have ever been to (And I've been to a few duds over the years....)

Calzaghe will set a record for the most world title defences ever made by a British fighter if he wins (15). In my opinion, he hasn't made one.

Rico Hoye will be fighting Montell Griffin in an IBF light heavyweight eliminator with the winner getting a crack at the Roy Jones- Glen Johnson winner. The fight will be held on September 16th in Sault Ste Marie at the Kewadin Casino. The card will be promoted by Gary Shaw and Bill Kozerski.

This is a seriously bad joke 15 defences of a world title and yet we are still waiting for a defining fight for Calzaghe. I can honestly see this event only selling about 50% of the tickets as the majority of knowledgable boxing fans across the border wont pay out for a farcical line-up such as this.

This can be seen in the recent decline in ticket sales for our own world champ Harrison. Scottish fans aren't as easily fooled as the Manchester fans who continue to make a certain man very rich despite the one-sided punchathons :P
