Rather a big deal has been made of it in the States and Ireland, its even tempted the Irish state broadcaster (RTÉ) to dip their toes into the waters of pro boxing for the first time since Casey-Rigondeaux.

Should be a good addition to the paid ranks. Hopefully his defence is better than his big brothers. Not that I'm complaining Jamie always makes for great entertainment

I believe that Mick has the talent to get to World-level. He's a classy boxer who will take some beating.

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing his career progress and find out for myself what the big deal is, his amateur achievements are incredible, he has the potential to be a massive star worldwide, Arum clearly is gonna try to build him into a household name, topping the bill at MSG on your pro debut on St Paddy's day really is something

Ive only ever seen Conlan box once and that was when he was beat in the Olympics last year and TBH I said at the time it wasn't the worst result i'd ever seen, I had Michael winning but it was far from the domination I read about before watching it, I think his reaction afterwards and some of the Games previous results helped his actions create more controversy and has probably helped him get more attention than if he'd won Gold

Pretty disappointed in the opponent though, I wasn't expecting a world beater for his debut but this Ibarra has been KO'd twice in the 1st round after only about 8 fights

It's over and done with! I think he's probably learned a lot just by getting in with someone who didn't wanna engage. Hopefully the start of a fruitful career. I'd have him on a few undercards in the States & Britain, definitely need to get him as a headliner in a future Irish show.

Excited to see how far along he can go.

Real talent and his reaction to the Olympic results, which wasn't anything like a robbery, has probably done him a favour as tasteless as it was.

Tastless come on how long was training for etc for that to happen, I thought it was great, no holding he spoke his mind..

Conlan already telling the world that he's going to be a 3 weight world champion. Confident kid.

Awful stoppage IMO, Conlan was throwing loads but he only landed 2 solid shots that I seen and they never hurt Ibarra much, Michael started a bit off the pace, missing with the right hand over the top a lot but he started to find his range in the 3rd and you could see him upping the pace and Ibarra never offered much so maybe a stoppage was on the way but the one we got was pretty shocking, I doubt that would've merited a standing count in the amatuers

Not an awful lot learned if I'm honest but he must have been nervous so its good to get the 1st one out of the way

It would have been bang on had he actually been robbed! That's what I meant

He had it in his head that the only way he was losing was getting robbed. He got beat in a close fight that could have gone either way.

Atmosphere was better than any UK fight this year..

He looked a bit wide open at times. He's under a lot of pressure to look good tho.

I liked the subtle way they worked St Patrick's Day into the build-up and Conlan's entrance.

I feel it was a decent start. Looked from the first that conlan may have had difficulty finding his range but he worked into the task well.

Hope he doesn't persistently drop his hands when switch hitting. Could be open to fast countering. I also felt he rushed his work a bit when looking to end it, though this may have been a symptom of the pressure he was under to impress

Overall a good performance . Imo stopped slightly prematurely, but not a travesty as it looked to be coming anyway.

I'll be following his career with interest. I actually don't think he is suited to the pros and expect him to under achieve. He's going to be well backed financially and will have an excellent team plotting his root but I see him struggling at elite level unless huge improvements are made. I wish him all the beat though as he seems a good lad with plenty about him.

I was there and it wasn't a sell out, wasn't that far off but lots of empty seats about. 1 block was half filled, I went and sat in it as it was a better seat.

Good atmosphere though

I haven't seen much of him, but I noticed that in his infamous bout at the Olympics too. The Russian was regularly catching him with clean hooks between those combos he'd throw, and Conlan's main advantage in the bout seemed to be down to volume rather than tighter work. I thought Nikitin rocked him at one point as well.

I'm all for it if it makes him even just half as entertaining as his brother.

Jamie's fights are must see TV these days, surely it cant be long before he's KO'd but what heart on the boy, a seriously tough hombre

I read Conor McGregor hogged the limelight after Micks win saying the Mayweather fight is nearly done and he's gonna knock him out
