Yes he won very well.

He can make adjustments its seems which is great and figures his opponents out quickly. You can see how he dominates opponents his own age. He would walk the ABA's.

I thought the scoring was a little squiffy, but not totally outrageous. Khan started nervously, and was wide open, took him until midway through the 2nd to find his range, and after that it was pretty much one way.

His next opponent will be a much stiffer test. Khan cannot afford to start as slowly next time around.

He won by stoppage 20 point rule. Very good fighter but he's probably not the best in the ightweight division.

He may improve dramatically after this contest though, probably a lot of pressure not to go out in the first round.

He's not the best, he's very raw, and fights based on confidence. But I think the kid is fornicating wicked, his confidence alone could take him to a medal.

Yes, I thought he looked pretty raw too. Not had much chance to see him before, he is getting by on his natural talent and handspeed. I wonder how much it will really benefit him to stay in the amateur game for another 4 years. These days the professionals have to effectively re-learn the game, as amateur boxing has become so different.

Yes, Khan seems to have mastered the computer scoring system, with plenty of straight, quick single shots. But he looks to have a dig, too. Should be interesting over the next few days.

I was impressed with Khan, after a nervous start he sussed his opponent and landed some great shots, the left hook-straight right combo that brought the standing eight count was sublime. Did anyone else watch it live on Eurosport? Or the re-run on BBC? I was unlucky enough to watch it on Eurosport...the bastards cut the Boxing to a small screen just as Amir was finishing his man off! What for? To tell us that the Shooting tournament had had a favourite knocked out or something along those lines Unbelievable.

You cannot not be impressed with his natural talent, for 17 he could very go along way, and I hope he sticks around the amateur game for a while longer (sorry, I just can't see him getting gold this time).

However, I do worry about that defence, seems very open to straight left and rights (especially rights) and I do worry about him relying on his reflexes when the headgear is off.

Thats why i watched it on Eurosport live and then the re-run on BBC and the higlights have been on quite a few times.

Totally agree.
First time I have seen him and to be honest I expected a little more after all the hype, maybe it was because he was nervous in the beginning, and he did get better as the bout progressed, but for me he seemed to drop his hands after he delivered his punches, he does seem to carry a fair bit of power in his shots.
Good luck to him, he` ll need it against the Bulgarian.

Yep, I heard reports that he was reminiscent of Naseem Hamed, for me he was more reminsicent of Ryan Rhodes. Perhaps thats harsh, just don't know if he's got the reflexes to rely on it solely has his defence.

I was reasonably impressed, he'll do well to get a medal. I think any really good experienced guys will score a lot against him, he's very open when he lets his shots go. For his age though he is some talent.

I think he was over anxious in the 1st round, got better in the 2nd, and showed his true form in the 3rd. I predict he will peform better on Friday, but whether it will be enough to beat the Bulgarian is another matter.

That Bulgarian Stillianov is so cagey and tricky, it frustrates me because if the Bulgarian beats Amir as is expected then i still don't seeing him being in the medal shake up...Amir strikes me as a confidence fighter...if he beats the Bulgarian he will probably gain the confidence to go forth and make an assault on the medals. Lol it's an odd situation

I just think he jumps in a bit too much and one of the more experienced guys will take advantage.
