Boxing porn again this weekend as Golovkin and Gonzalez on the same card, Gonzalez defending his WBC Super Flyweight title against former holder Rungvisai(also known as Wisaksil Wangek) don't know anything about him but he lost the title on a TD to Cuadras who Gonzalez just won the title against, ive read that this could be the toughest fight of Chocolatito's career but I'm sure Boxing Prospect can shed more light on this fight

Gonzalez coming off the great win against Cuadras to become a 4 weight champ, that was an excellent all action fight and Roman had to be at his best to win as Cuadras can fight too and he looked massive compared to him

I'm not up on Rungvisai's style but I assume like most guys down that way its aggressive all action from the start, Gonzalez doesn't mind having a look for the 1st couple of rounds before getting to work, that's a trait a lot of elite fighters have, don't mind giving away a couple of rounds before turning up the heat, Gonzalez's combination punching and footwork are up there with the best of all time IMO

No way can this guy be tougher than RG's last fight, that was a hard, hard fight for him, he looked too small at the weight v Cuadras....this guy he's got on Sat has weirdly been fighting 6 rounders for last few years ...no doubt the norm out there ...

Thought Rungvisai (Wangek) was beginning to get to Cuadras and I know it was a few years ago but he has stopped almost everyone since then, this fight intrigues me I think it could be a cracker

Gonzalez had a really bad camp and struggling with weight.

He should still have enough to win this but I'm expecting Inoue to be the fight after.

over the last week I've heard that he has had major bust up with trainers, been to light now I'm hearing he's to heavy. I'm presuming it's the heavy one. Considering he was doing light-fly not long ago sounds like his camp has been a nightmare.

Can't see Gonzalez being the type of guy to have false rumours about him either.

Firstly...never refer to Thai's by their "surnames" it just causes confusion, always use their first name

so "Srisaket"...

Anyway...Srisaket is an out and out pressure fighter, heavy hands, good work rate, a tough chin and a real grit to him. Like many Thai's he has got a padded record but she he's stepped up in the past he has proven to be genuine (with wins against Yota Sato, Hirofumi Mukai, Jose Salgado and he seemed to be getting to Cuadras when that bout was stopped). He's genuinely heavy handed and fights like a bit of a limited smaller Golovkin. As with Golovkin one could question his stamina but he seemed to be coming on stronger in the second half against Cuadras.

He's not the smoothest but like most Thai's he's rugged and has rarely been backed up (Cuadras seemed happier to run in an Olympic sized swimming pool ring than to ever engage in much of a fight).

When Gonzalez first spoke about moving to 115 properly (as opposed to having a stay busy fight) I said Srisaket was going to be a nightmare for him stylistically, and I think that's still the case. Especially with the issues involving Gonzalez's camp (particularly this being his first bout since Obando's death). Gonzalez is by far the more skilled and technically able fighter in there, but he's coming up against a brutish Super Flyweight. They may "technically" be the same size but the reality is that Srisaket is the bigger man and that Gonzalez is a guy who is looking small at Super Flyweight, and looked chubby at times at Flyweight (the weigh in against Fuentes was far from flattering).

Gonzalez will be up against a man who will engage in a war, won't back away and will instead look to instill his will on the Nicaraguan, something we haven't really seen Gonzalez up against. Given that Viloria hurt Gonzalez with a body shot, and that Cuadras swelled his face...lets just say this will be interesting

Gonzalez is 1/20 with the bookies which going off what I have read is far too wide. I watched Sirsket v Cuadras fight a bit ago and it only just started to liven up by the time it was stopped.

I really want Chocolatito to get to 50-0 but that's 4 more fights including this. I feel someone is going to get him at the right time soon possibly Cuadras in the rematch or Naoya Inoue in the super fight for the hard cores.

9/10 I roll my eyes at these weight 'storys'. When it's chocolito I take notice.
Everything usually runs smoothly. Really hope the wheels don't come off now he's getting some mainstream coverage.

Yeah, Obando was pretty much a father figure/mentor and not just a trainer, he was a proper boxing man. Sounds like the current team aren't boxing folk and don't really know what they are doing

Sounds like it could be interesting, coming off a bad camp against a strong super flyweight. Gives me the feeling it could be like some of Leo Gamez's fights, another strawweight champ who looked tubby winning (and in this case, losing and drawing) titles at junior flyweight, flyweight and super flyweight in some hard fights against bigger Japanese, Koreans and (in two or three sensational battles), peaking fighters from Thailand.

Sounds like there could be a few issues for Gonzalez. So his lead trainer died? Also has his success got to his head, after being hailed as "p4p king" by the hardcore contingent led by Doug Fischer, Cliff Rold and so on? This seems to have led to infuriation for Gonzalez whose role on cards is basically to be quality support to Golovkin. And has led to him rejecting rematches of the best fights he was in on the grounds that the p4p #1 should get much more money.

I had it 115-112 Gonzalez but I cant argue with Rungvisai getting it as most of them rounds were brutal to score, Rungvisai starting off well landing shots that seemed to hurt Gonzalez but Roman finishing every round well going punch for punch and scoring classy punches, Gonzalez just couldn't put a dent in Rungvisai but he showed his heart by choosing to grit it out and outfight him to the end, I thought Gonzalez nicked it but I imagine although a lot of people might have similar scores the rounds have been all over the place

114-112 Gonzalez for me...I think he was just a bit fresher in most of the rounds and generally had more steam on his shots

Had it Srisaket 114-113.

Outstanding contest. I wouldn't mind a rematch but I think that took a lot out of Gonzalez. Jamie Conlan noted yesterday how Gonzlaez was struggling to stand after the weigh in.

As for Sor Rungvisai what a win

MANY people considered Gonzlaez as number 1 p4p. Does this win alone make him the greatest fighter ever out of Thailand ? And one of the greatest out of Asia ? How many have beaten and taken the 0 of the regarded p4p number 1 and also out of the continent?

I'm not saying he is, because I am not that familiar with the history of boxing in Asia. It's just an phenomenal win
