he punches harder in a p4p sense than hearns or hamed. the pop he has in his punches is legendary, i follow boxing since so many years and have seen so many training vids of top punchers and i have never seen a puncher who puts so much force into 1 punch.

i thought arthur abraham was (aside from jj) the biggest puncher ever at middleweight, i remember how he almost killed koren gevor with a left hook or how he %/() taylor. but i have to admit ggg punches harder than artur at middleweight.

at the end of the discussion if we talk p4p, than ggg has to mix it up with guys like edwin valero, julian jackson, randall bailey.

when i judge power in a punch, beside the obvious, the destruction that makes it, the kos, the sound is the most important.

when i heard valero punching heavy bag or mitts, ggg punching hooks in a big mitt, the sound, just another level.

I thought GGG shaded it. He landed the better punches and pushed the action. Jacobs did a great job though and it could've gone either way.

GGG's competition has been roughly on the same 2nd-tier level as Valero and Bailey. Tyson had tougher comp and so did Hearns (who KOd Duran, Cuevas, etc)

Lemieux can't be far away. Boy can he bang. Certainly one of the current hardest punchers P4P.
