Shot N'Dam vs Murata who hasn't fought a top 50 MW for WBA title? That is a kind of a fight which makes titles a joke. Wasn't WBA going to consolidate their titles?

Whenever there’s a “WBA Super World” champion, the “Regular” world title in the same division becomes an utterly meaningless belt that should be ignored by all and sundry.

In this situation, the boxing fraternity should disregard any contests from the record books where this belt is the main title being fought for.

The WBA is disgusting.

They said they will get rid of some of their extra titles in the same weight division, but they obviously have no intention of doing so.

That's lame for a title fight, but it's still a good fight in general.

This had been mentioned WEEKS ago, when the WBA held a press conference the French manager met with Mr Honda to talk about the bout.

Good fight, I agree

I don't think it's even that lame of a title match by today's standards. N'dam is top 10 or so and is coming off a good win (named KO of the Year by many), and Murata is an unbeaten prospect and Olympic champ.

Yes it's an interesting matchup, and it would be okay as a WBA eliminator.

But there's already a WBA titleholder, and we don't need more than one WBA title per division.

It is easy to be unbeaten if you only fight bums. Wilder before he faced Stiverne had a better resume than Murata now.

Isn't Murata by far the highest paid boxer in Japan?

I was sceptical about the WBA's intentions of scrapping the Regular belt but even more so when they sanctioned Briggs/Oquendo, shows they've no intention of doing so

I tell you this. They will be the first against the wall when revolution comes.

Shot N'Dam!? The hell are you smoking? The man just pulled a gigantic upset over heavily hyped Alfonse Blanco. Easily, he revived his career. Very good fight.
