I just read him say he's weighing 4 and a half stone over middleweight. Isn't that 60+ pounds? Is that unusual for him or is he hattonesque out of competition?

I don't think he's quite as bad as Hatton, but Saunders definitely blows up outside of camp. Which probably explains why he gasses terribly in virtually every fight.

He did an interview with Ifl the other day, he didn't look bloated in the face.

With Saunders' lack of professionalism, conditioning and fights in the past 15 months i would seriously and genuinely worry that he would get battered by Eubank jr let alone being able to pose any sort of meaningful risk to GGG.

Saunders' pitiful reign as WBO champ makes his title virtually as meaningless as the IBO.

Unlike Hatton he doesn't seem strong at the weight at all.

I think you have to take some of what he says with a pinch of salt. He knows these kind of comments will get a rise out of people. I don't particularly care for his personality but I very much doubt he's 4 and 1/2 stone over 160. He'd be enormous at the height he is and it would be obvious by his face like you say.

I enjoy watching Saunders at his highest level and I enjoy his interviews however much I think he can be a bit too chavvy. But I'm really starting to get sick of him, I even bottled his latest interview where he apparently called GGG a minge. Talking is good when you're Floyd, Canelo & Ward, because they're at the top and have shown to be committed to the sport. Billy Joe is making a mockery of himself & the sport.

I'm fairly certain he doesn't actually weigh 15 stone right now, but there is a pretty clear correlation between fighters who don't blow up, and those who are successful.

Saunders basically reminds me of the "hardest" kids where I grew up (predominately travellers, funnily enough, although the hardest were gorgers, not that many traveller romanticists will care to admit that): loud, troubled, undisciplined and fundamentally bullies, but unlike them he has a boatload of natural talent. Can't see him pulling it together to beat the best in the world and I hope he doesn't: he's the embodiment of the monsters that used to terrorise the towns and villages I knew growing up in the 90's, only with talent.

Can't wait to see the back of the bloke to be honest.

Looks like he could make LM if he could be bothered.

Saunders had about as good as schooling through the ranks all the way to WBO champ as possible, not to mention the amateur pedigree which makes his title reign all the more frustrating

I'm not saying he beats Golovkin but he has the style to trouble him IMO but if he's anything like he was against Akavov then its an easy night work for GGG

He's admitted now that he was waiting for Golovkin to get old. As good a boxer as Saunders can be his conditioning is a disgrace at times and it will cost him as he can't hit hard enough to keep Golovkin away.
Big ko for Golovkin, last week does nothing to change my opinion.

Maybe we have . Was coming out with some pretty negative stuff about his future not so long ago .

I blanked that interview myself. I love the fact he called him a minge Even that wasn't enough to make me watch it though. He was absolute muck last time out and if he'd been in with a proper challenger he'd have lost his title.

I agree. He's a wanker of highest order. I'm going to love seeing the chip fat beaten out him.

It's the usual. A lot of travellers here are the same, they don't think about nutrition and training the way modern athletes do. They smoke and drink, eat shite but train and have usually been fighting bare knuckle since they were 5-6 year olds, so think boxing is a piece of piss and that success is in their blood.

So unprofessional plus you'd have thought after his recent performances with obvious conditioning issues he'd be making more of an effort to stay in shape outside of training camps.
