Does anyone think Usyk will step up to heavyweight in the future?

He is a big cruiser and I'd love to see him throw a spanner in the works of a relatively poor HW division, although at 30 he's no spring chicken.

Yeah I think its inevitable, him and AJ in 18 months time would be top notch

Think he and Gassiev will outgrow the division naturally as opposed to moving up as a manufactured heavyweight like Juan Carlos Gomez, Tomasz Adamek and David Haye derailed their careers doing.

He is indeed a very good fighter, I think he will move up and almost certainly fight for a world title at Heavyweight, will be interesting to see how he goes, always thought he was, at times, brilliant in the amateurs, although always thought there was a little more there than we saw at other times.

We've already seen him handle SHW's in the amateurs. I think he'll be fine at HW. If pushed to play "Houdini" and predict the future, I'd guess AJ unifies and then Usyk moves up and beats him.

Have you seen the photo of him next to Vitali, though? Big bro dwarfs him. Makes him look tiny.

People giving him a bit stick for his next fight, I'm glad it's a live young hungry fighter like Hunter, Usyk is someone I just love to watch. I'd like him to fight the top guys at Cruiser before moving i.e. Gassiev, Breidis etc.

There's already been talk of him stepping up so it's looking likely. He's 30 but that's relatively young for a heavy so he has time. Smashing fighter but not sure if he has the power to make a massive impact on the heavyweight division. Would be interesting though

Stu, 30 at heavy means you could still have a decade ahead of you, especially these days.

Definitely mate Some good fights for him at cruiser so hopefully we can see a couple of them before he moves up.

I'd guess it's not a question of if but rather when. If pushed to play Charles Atlas I'd wager he wins a HW title or two.

It would be a mistake if he does. He is too small to last against modern enormous heavies.

If he does move up to heavyweight, and why not?, he should go up as unified and undisputed cruiserweight champion. Cruiserweight is a great division with real depth, and it would be a shame to have too many paper champs. Breidis/Huck winner and Gassiev!

Up at HW I'd take him over someone like Parker, but I think a giant like AJ would be too big. Usyk isn't really a major banger either despite a high KO rate, and I think he'd struggle to get the respect of the elite HWs.

Yeah probably. Doubt he'd have much power at heavy as well. Isn't a murderous hitter like Haye. Skill wise he'd give any of them problems though

I'd like to see him fight bellew but that ain't gonna happen is it lol

Yeah if he is going to move up to heavyweight, I hope he does everything at cruiserweight first. Like, unification or lots of title defences.

Hate it when these guys derail their own careers, Haye, Adamek and Juan Carlos Gomez really losing control of their careers to get some impressive paydays.

As soon as there's a HW champion who's not a giant I can see Usyk make his move.

I reckon his team are probably favouring Wilder. Weight wise Deontay isn't a huge HW.

Also I'd give him a good chance between the Parker/Fury winner.
