I have the feeling that GGG is waiting for Canelo-Chavez Jr outcome, Saunders can wait.

Saunders is just yapping about GGG to sign the contract this week but I think GGG is waiting for the Canelo-Chavez Jr outcome.

Didn’t Tom Loeffler and Abel Sanchez state that they are committed to June 10th being Golovkin’s next fight date, hopefully against Billy Joe Saunders, with Tureano Johnson being their “plan B”?
Based on today’s date, there’s just about enough time for a ten-week training camp (without a promotional tour).
So why on earth would Team GGG wait until the 6th May to arrange an opponent for HBO’s June 10th fight date?

Abel Sanchez said that during an injury interview posted on Youtube during the last few days. He's only a plan-B though, so I doubt it'll happen, but he is the IBF's top-ranked contender.

That was the plan but the time is ticking and after a tough fight against Jacobs and of course the aging, GGG may think more at a cash out against Canelo-JCCJr winner than adding more wear and tear (training camp and the fight itself) with another fight in June. Not to mention that Oscar said that if GGG is gonna fight in June , there won't be enough time to properly promote the fight and the chances to happen in September may be smaller to none. Also if Chavez Jr wins then a fight against him and GGG would be at 168 lbs without the mw titles on the line, which could happen and it would be a safer fight for GGG.

Are you going to defend Tureano Johnson as a possible opponent for Golovkin?

He's his mandatory. Nothing wrong with that.

The IBF is utter garbage.
Their mandatories are regularly abysmal.
