Which fighter would you like to see one last time who could realistically still give it a good go?

I'd love to see Naz or Lewis but both are over the hill and way too gone to contend. So I'd say Calazaghe, I reckon give him 12 months and he could give a good fight still.

None. Calzaghe would be a 46 year old man if he came back. Someone like Kovalev would absolutely murder him.

Froch

Froch for me. I'd like him to have a tune up and then get in with GGG. Won't happen though since he had his nose done.

Not sure. Good question. Froch looks after himself and could probably still do a bit of damage. Calzaghe, Lewis, Naz etc are too far gone.

I was always a big Alex Arthur fan though I see him as a bit of a waste of talent. Should've done a lot more with his career. Would be fun to see him back but he looked as if he'd put a fair bit of muscle on last time I seen him.

Carl Froch.

Froch for me too, I mean I'm happy he retired, but he probably had one more big fight left in him, and he's not so old.

I think Hopkins has finally gotten too old, I'd personally prefer not to see him in the ring again.

Yes, but who's a more credible opponent that Froch could sensibly fight on his ring return, after over 3 years out of the ring?

There is also the Calzaghe link, with Hopkins arguably being Calzaghe's best win.

Froch might benefit from having a win over him as well, when their records get compared.

After so long out, even Roy Jones Jr would be a credible opponent.

Well this is a fantasy type of thread.

Froch is one of the only domestic fighters who could come back and do anything at a decent level.


As for other retired British fighters:

I wouldn't mind Lennox Lewis coming back to fight Riddick Bowe.

Kevin Mitchell and Gavin Rees back in the domestic lightweight mix could be good.

Matthew Macklin vs Andy Lee.

Ovill McKenzie returning if his health problem somehow got better.

Froch did a few rounds of sparring with Anthony Fowler in Sheffield last week.

Make of that what you will. Still in great shape so it's definitely possible but I do get the feeling he drops these sort of comments every so often as either attention seeking or a bit of a wind up.

As for Roy Jones you're out of your mind.

I would quite like to see McDermott back in the mix. But I'm not exactly desperate. Can't think of anyone else really.

I'd rather he faced a nobody who was fresh and able to go a few rounds than the shell of a fighter who will be rendered unconscious on first impact.

He's still a massive name and it would boost Froch's record.

An ancient shadow of Hopkins isn't going to boost Froch's record. It's not as if his record needs boosted is it?

And even if he did fight him it would likely be an awful watch. I can't remember seeing anyone look good against Hopkins.
