MAn I'd hate to be Khan. He's publicly said he didn't like Naseem because of his attitude, but still people are comparing him to Naz, because of his colour and looks. It's unfair in my opinion. Ask yourself, woudl you like to be compared to Naseem?? As a fighter yes but who would like to be compared to the arrogant cocky shit that was Naz?

PS speaking of Naz where is he nowadays? Also where is Vernon Forrest? They've dissapeared.

Comparisons are inevitable i'm afraid, but i don't see the connection style wise anyway...it's probably the none Boxing brigade making the comparisons anyway, you know people like Colin Hart, Pat Sheehan, Kevin Garside etc :P

It's completely because of the racial side of things very annoying. And they are both different there too Khan is Pakistan and Naz is Arab. Khan from what Ive seen in the interviews is quiet and polite, whereas Naz is a loud cocky little shit.

They do look alike, but that's about it. Khan is Pakistani, Naz was Yemeni, both from the same part of the world, different weight divisions, totally different

To be fair, Yemen may be Arabic, but the people there have a lot of Asian blood, it's basically the gateway between arabia the east and Africa, and was part of British India.

However, Khan has a totally different fighting style, but as an asian will be identified with by the same crowd who identified with Naseem.

i know i'm gonna be in the minority here, but i liked Naz, maybe he let his mouth run away sometimes. But he was the best in his division for a while.

Maybe its been hard for him to eat humble pie after the last couple of fights, i hope he doesn't come back , as i would hate to see him get chinned by a boxer who wouldn't have touched him in his prime.

oh and i do like Khan, and no he shouldn't be compared to Naz, as they are completly different types of personalitys.

Personally....I'm just pissed off the little arse just fucked off without even letting his fans know that he couldnt hack it anymore....ungreatfull little bleeder...in fact if i was to see him..i`d give him a clip around that catchers mitt he calls his right ear.....then i would stroll away whistling i dont reckon Naz could waddle more than a few feet now anyway......

Naz was a great fighter and to be fair if i was in the same situation as Khan and being compared to Naz i'd be well chuffed.

You just have to watch the documentary that was made prior to the Barrera fight to see how much of a twat Naz was.

Biggest fight in his career and he's more worried about his fcukin hairstyle, his sparring was a joke aswell bringing in a couple of mexican roadsweepers who his brother claimed were world champions.

That fight still brings a smile to my face When MAB rammed him into the ringpost was pure comedy at its best.

Cant judge him as a person seeing as ive met him for only a few seconds to shake his hand and wish him the best of luck for the billy hardy fight....like he needed that..lol.

I always liked Naz - how often do we see a talent like that coming out of the UK? Brash and cocky, yes, but that was the type of attitude, and punching power, that brought million dollar paydays to the featherweight division. Which can't be a bad thing.

As for Khan being compared to him, yes it's a bit early. But it's probably down to the fact Khan is showing the kind of talent that might one day turn out to be world class.

I loved Naz when he was fighting and whatever people say about his attitude, his fights were almost always worth whatching (Wayne Mcullough aside). I agree it would have been brilliant to see him comeback after his first loss the way Leonard, Hearns, Duran etc did and it would have show he was a great fighter rather that just an exceptionaly talented one. I really enjoyed his arrogance particularly when he went over to America.

I've been impressed by the small amout Amir Khan's career i've seen (namely his olympic outing and some clips of earlier amature bouts). While it's jumping the gun a bit to start talking about it, if he does become a star in the future his more unassuming attitude may be just what British boxing needs at a time when our fighters seem to be all mouth and hype but never delivering when the time comes.

I agree with this, apart from the clipping him round the ear bit.

Hamed has a lot of fans as the amounts of views/posts that threads on these forums still get about him. He could have the decency to officially announce his intentions one way or the other.
