Brian Viloria

You know what, this dude never got enough love on here for his career I don't think. I almost wonder if him getting
talked up a bit too much earlier in his career, and the pretty extravagant physical gifts he has, make him seem like he's underachieved more than he has.
Sure he had that Oscar or Judah sort of problem of not being adaptable or smart in the ring, more physical talent than brains, and his stamina suffered in the same way and for the same reasons. And he almost always lost to smart, conditioned boxers.
But goddam on his night against someone who was a good style match, what a fucken beast Viloria was. Segura, I'm sure was heavy favourite and that was like a Mosley-Margarito horrific beat down of the Mexican cyborg-type.
And Marquez, Viloria was nearly punch-perfect that night. Busy clever boxers like Estrada and Sosa had quite easy nights with him but he could eat aggressive fighters alive, weirdly for a dude with his profile (talented but dumb) he could be a tremendous counterpuncher. And he gave Chocalatito a fucken good fight for all he was getting mauled mostly.
At his best he could let torqued shots go wicked-fast, was heavyhanded off both sides and was brutal to the body.
Not my phrase exactly, but: Heavy Hands, Limited Boxing IQ, dubious stamina, heart for days.
Show Brian some love he was a fucken badass fighter and he was in at least 3 classic wars
