Golovkin-Saunders Unlikely For June, GGG To Wait For Canelo

“At the moment, they’re saying that Golovkin’s injured,” Warren said to allegedly. “So we’re waiting to see where this is all going. But as far as I’m concerned, we agreed [to] terms, so much so that we made an interim [title] fight, we paid a guy to step aside to enable it to happen. So we’ve done everything we can to deliver that fight. And Bill deserves it.”
“He was sore,” Sanchez told Mannix. “He had a 12-round fight. I didn’t see it the first day in the dressing room. Usually the second or third day you start to feel it and I didn’t check in with him right after. After a long training camp, I’m the last person he would want to see. He is not a complainer. It’s just natural soreness. It was a difficult fight.” from scene
I think GGG really injured himself and he doesn't want to risk it all against BJS, so he waits for the golden goose-Canelo. The problem is , I think Oscar wants to extend the term of this fight till GGG is visibily done by lowballing him.

GGG isn't injured and Abel Sanchez said so. He's sore and recovering from a gruelling fight and the temptation of engaging in a big money super-fight against Canelo outweighs the rewards of a title unification bout against Saunders.
This is how "PRIZE" fighters are supposed to behave and I applaud him for that. He's making a sensible business decision by refusing to risk losing or delaying the Canelo fight for the sake of the WBO strap and nobody should blame him for being so sensible.
Billy Joe will of course mock GGG for "losing his pen", but the Brit would do precisely the same thing if he was in his situation.

Exactly, Bill Joe, has already paid off his mandatory challenger for a bigger payday.. Golovkin is just doing the same thing, He can make more fighting Canelo instead of BJS.

Just to clarify any doubts to those that are appalled or emotionally-distressed about the opinions that I have expressed…
Here are the timelines in chronological order for what has actually occurred during the Golovkin-Saunders debacle:
• 17/12/2016 – The Golovkin-Jacobs fight is officially announced
• 24/01/2017 - Billy Joe Saunders announces a "game-changing fight" that "the fans will genuinely love", which will require him to "travel", not to the "US" but in his opponents' "home country"
• 07/02/2017 – Fwank Warren announced that middleweight contender Avtandil Khurtsidze would be paid a six-figure step-aside fee, including a shot at the interim version of the WBO middleweight title, to allow Saunders to pursue “a major fight next”
• 13/03/2017 – Billy Joe Saunders claims that he could face GGG “very, very, very, very, very soon”
• 15/03/2017 – The media reports that June 10th is the date set for the GGG-Saunders fight, with Tom Loeffler refusing to confirm the speculation
• 17/03/2017 – Fwank Warren announces that if Golovkin defeats Jacobs then he wants Saunders next
• 18/03/2017 - Gennady Golovkin scores a decision victory over Danny Jacobs
• 19/03/2017 - GGG challenges the Brit to face him in his native Kazakhstan
• 20/03/2017 - Billy Joe Saunders claims that his team commenced negotiations for the GGG fight before he had even faced Jacobs and that they have already agreed the financial terms of the bout, but were simply waiting for Golovkin's signature
• 21/03/2017 - Oscar De La Hoya claims that Team GGG have to be more fair about contract negotiations based on the financials of the Golovkin-Jacobs fight
• 24/03/2017 - Oscar De La Hoya claims that a June fight between Golovkin & Saunders is disrespectful if they also hope to make the Canelo bout in September, due to the possible risks of injury to Golovkin and also reducing the time available to promote the super-fight
• 25/03/2017 - Billy Joe Saunders urges Golovkin to stop wasting time and take the fight
• 28/03/2017 - Billy Joe Saunders issues a deadline of the 31/03/2017 for GGG to agree the fight
• 29/03/2017 - Abel Sanchez claims that Oscar De La Hoya's threats are one way to say that they don't want the GGG-Canelo fight
• 29/03/2017 – Fwank Warren claims all the terms of the GGG fight have been accepted, but Golovkin has ten days, which is a deadline of the 08/04/2017, to sign the contract
• 30/03/2017 - Tom Loeffler claims that his team intend to make the Saunders fight, because nothing is signed with Golden Boy
• 30/03/2017 - Tom Loeffler denies knowledge of deadlines imposed by Saunders & Oscar De La Hoya claiming that an announcement would be made during W/C 03/04/2017
• 31/03/2017 - Billy Joe Saunders reminds Golovkin to sign the fight, offers to loan him his pen and also publishes the text messages he received from Tom Loeffler that proved the delay was caused by Team GGG
• 06/04/2017 - Fwank Warren informs the media that Team GGG is claiming that an injury to Golovkin is delaying the signing of the fight
• 07/04/2017 - Abel Sanchez clearly and adamantly denies the existence of any injury to Golovkin
• 11/04/2017 - Today's date and there are only eight weeks remaining until the originally-planned GGG-Saunders fight date, which now looks unlikely to take place
• 10/06/2017 – Proposed date for the GGG-Saunders bout
• 16/09/2017 – Proposed date for the GGG-Canelo bout
So we know for certain that Saunders has already agreed the terms and the date of the Golovkin bout, with his promoter going as far as paying the WBO’s mandatory challenger a six-figure step-aside fee, but GGG’s pen has somehow gone missing!
If the Saunders bout falls through and Golovkin isn't injured, then it seems that the lure of the big money Canelo super-fight takes priority for GGG over title unification.

It's obvious team GGG want the Canelo fight over the unification with BJS.
I'd prefer GGG to fight BJS in June and make the Canelo fight for later in the year - why can't it happen in November to give GB the 5 months they want to promote? Surely it doesn't HAVE to happen on a Mexican holiday weekend.
I suspect neither BJS or Canelo fight will happen this year.

There is a risk that the Canelo-GGG fight doesn’t take place, since the media have reported that Loeffler has already declined a $15m offer from GBP’s Eric Gomez. So K2 may be pricing themselves out of the fight.
And if K2 also walk aways from the Saunders bout, after Billy Joe experienced a period of inactivity waiting for Gennady, coupled with Fwank Warren paying a six-figure step-aside fee to the WBO’s mandatory challenger…
Then we may witness a situation whereby Canelo faces Saunders instead, because the Brit and his promoter may be reluctant to waste any more time on the Kazakh after getting his fingers burned.

..that was before Jacobs fight, wasn't it..I believe close decision win made GGG's team reconsider their priorities...the time being obviously not on their side, they decided to focus on Canelo..I expect they'll show more flexibility regarding Oscar's offer making sure they get him against the wall this time...

I think Golovkin is injured or Kazakh government money promised earlier isn't really available. Team GGG knows that if Canelo vs Chavez fight is close or if "public demands a rematch", they are not getting Canelo in September, so I doubt that they would sacrifice the unification if they could do it.

Possible. GGG could fight in U.K or Monaco vs Saunders. In his country he could just defend one of his belts.
