WTF is with this Top Rank PPV?

The card is:

Oscar Valdez vs. Manuel Marriaga
Gilberto Ramirez vs. Max Bursak
Jessie Magdaleno vs. Adeilson Dos Santos

They are charging $45 for this garbage. Who in their right mind would pay for this?

But people love to Shiite on pbc but forget other promoters put out garbage too. All pbc haters defend this. Imagine if pbc put this out for ppv people
would be saying he the worst thing for boxing.

Top Rank has a lot of boxers under contract. There's no need to have a garbage PPV like that.

This will be lucky to reach 5K buys.

They should have threw a couple of these fights on Pacquaio-Horn undercard. Because that card will need all the help it can get too.

He needs to keep his fighters active. Nobody wanted to buy the fights, so it's ppv. Nothing wrong with it.

The positive in putting these fighters on PPV is that you make the fighters themselves realize how much they are actually worth. This way they stop asking for ridiculous paychecks inflated by PBC.

Who is defending this you idiot? PBC fanboys just don't want to admit they are really Gaymon's trannies posting on forums.

HBO is cutting the boxing budget, though. It is shit that they put this on a PPV card. Sucks because Valdez could be a huge star if he keeps winning.

Sound like you defending this talking about HBO budget. Who's the idiot. How about using another platform/network.

You are, nothing wrong with HBO spending their money elsewhere. Boxing in America is shit.

I'm not defending it. Takes Gaymon's weewee out of your ear. I'm just stating that HBO is cutting the boxing budget. Yeah, I would love to see this card on a regular HBO card.

I agree but to separate pbc from any other promoter is my problem on all Shiite. Stop separating it saying one is worst than the other.

Why is it the name calling shows you the bias. Pbc shouldn't be outed for what they do.

The thing is, Valdez, Ramirez, and Magdaleno are all really good fighters, and if they had good opponents, I might be willing to pay $45 for this. But these are 3 total mismatches. Where did they even find this Dos Santos guy? He's beaten nothing but absolute scrubs and even got KO'd by an Argentinian cab driver last year, but he gets a title shot against the #2 guy in the division? At least Marriaga and Bursak I've heard of.

They could have fooled me. There in the business of promoting fighters not fights and that's why boxing is dying on there network. Invest in fights not fighters.

:TU: Agreed the A side are decent but B-sides are so bad the favorites are all over 50 to 1 to win wtf and you charging $50. That's the problem. Absolutely no value.

To me, Marriaga/Valdez looks like a 50-50 fight. It's an outstanding fight. The rest are awful fights, though. Should've been Magdaleno/Donaire: II and Ramirez/Groves or something.

50/50 fight? More like a 98/2 fight. Marriaga is tough (and the best B-side on the card) but he is not on the same level as Valdez. Only question is whether Valdez will stop him.

If it was Magdaleno/Rigondeaux or Ramirez/Groves I'd actually buy it. As is, I think it's worth about $5, not $45.

You know this how? Valdez's best win is still Avalos, ffs.

Marriaga's win over Jesus Galicia is equal to, might be better than Valdez's over Gradovich. Avalos is the best win of the two, but Marriaga stepped in with Walters, who is better than anyone on either's resume.

I do like Valdez, but saying that Marriaga is not in the same level is just being a fanboy. Valdez might dominate him, but nothing suggests that he will other than speculation.

Marriaga stepped in with Walters ... and lost just about every round. Galicia is a nobody and Marriaga only beat him by a couple of points. Valdez has already beaten multiple guys on Marriaga's level.

I guarantee the betting odds for this fight put Valdez as a -1000 favorite at the very least. If you truly think it is a 50/50 fight you should put money on Marriaga.

I guess they did fool you. They don't promote fights, Boxing does poor ratings on their network and they're not investing as much. It's as simple as that. This falls back on the actual promoters that used their cushy budget for decades instead of building draws and making fights.

Arum wanted to make Valdez/Donaire, HBO shut that down too.

Arum is definitely losing money on this, if he had them all in solid fights he would lose more.

Not if he stuck one on the Pacquaio undercard and maybe the Crawford undercard. Is Crawford fight the only fight on that card on TV
