Total idiot. Car shot up and if he's not careful it'll be him next. Very talented fighter and he's wasting it for himself.

A large part of me tends not to want to judge this man. Course, a lot of his shennanigans can be filed under “Idiot” - but I haven’t walked a mile in his shoes.
A lot of what to me seems outlandish (guns, hard-drugs, bullet-ridden cars, severely dysfunctional family background - if indeed it was) might be to him quite normalised.
That would make it harder for that person to suddenly change their entire outlook.

My real problem is Broner's 'parenting skills'. What a wanker - spawns all these kids with different mothers and you know he rarely sees them....

Decent and sympathetic viewpoint mate

It could be added that in all likelihood Broner only knows one kind of life and that his financial, sporting success does not mean that he can automatically or easily escape from it. That's not a given.

Having the resources to live differently is one thing; the challenge is to overcome a deeply ingrained culture and his personal experiences.

Sadly, one suspects that Broner is trapped and that those around him are only interested in his boxing or simply leeching on his wealth/notoriety.

It might sound a bit twee and overly nostalgic....but you can't help feeling that there is still a place in boxing for the likes of a D'Amato, Jackie Kallen or a Terry Lawless.

None of these people enjoyed complete success when it came to helping their fighters; but at least they tried to offer a different outlook and seemed to care.
