Did I miss a price increase on all PPV or is it just this one?
I just saw an advert for klitschko v Joshua PPV saying £19.95 I know most are £16.95? Unless I missed something

Says £19.95 on the website too. Not really a surprise - Sky TV are apparently doing badly financially and getting worse every year. Boxing fans suffer, as fvcking usual.

Yes it's been advertised at £19.95 for few weeks now.

So they have increased the price and put on poorer undercard than Brook/Spence. Guess Wlad didn't allocate any budget if Quigg/Campbell - 3 Olympians and Taylor is the support card.

A boxing specific channel plainly hasn't worked with BN given their financial results. Not sure why Sky would copy a failing model.

The extra three quid will deter approximately 0 buyers.

But from a fans point of view football is the biggest sport going. Hence why a football-centric model plus smaller sports works. To repeat, BN has demonstrably failed as a business. Boxing is just too reliant on casual supporters.

I'm not disagreeing. It's just a pain in the pisser and there must be something that can be done. It's not just down to tv either. The sport as a whole. Mismatches, governing bodies etc...

I cancelled Sky Sports nearly a year ago and don't miss it at all. I get my football fix from supporting my local team where I have a season ticket, and the Premier League is just massively overhyped and nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Like you say, Sky put all their big fights on PPV anyway so I order those separately if I really fancy them. Can also always get a Now TV weekend pass for a fiver if there's a non-PPV fight on Sky Sports which you want to watch.

Save £19.95, go on facebook on the night of the fight - guarantee that there will be pages/profiles streaming the fight on there!

Live streaming may well be the death knell, but whenever, through desperation, they suddenly charge a PPV for a huge football match, we'll all know the end is in sight. The company (Sky) who take the leap and charge PPV for that match , will crumble and burn virtually overnight.

As streaming technology gets better something will have to change, but that could just as easily be technology designed at blocking it. For the sake of a few quid I prefer the reassurance of having it on tv than trying to find a stream to watch.

Yep that's why they have done it hopefully the Brook fight is at the regular price.

I've decided against buying Sky PPVs. I'll watch a dodgy stream or listen to radio then just watch it on Sky HD later in the week.

Bit disappointing but shamefully I'll still buy it. Hope the brook fight and future PPV is back to normal price

I'm only buying it because some mates are coming over to watch with a few beers and a takeaway. If they weren't interested I'd probably just listen on 5 Live.

Don't see the major issue tbh. yeah its a bit much perhaps for what it is but theres loads of ways to see it, go to a pub, go halves or chip in with how ever many you are watching it with, or just follow it on the radio or on here.

No one is being forced to pay to watch it. Personally I don't think 20quid is going to set anybody back too much is it really , whether the card is worth that or not is up to each individual to decide but no ones being held at ransom to buy the event
