How many more PPVs this year?

What's the thoughts? Could this be a record year for PPVs? We've got this one at the weekend. Brook next month. AJ will no doubt be out again before the year is out and potentially another Haye/Bellew.

It certainly could be if people keeping buying them regardless of the quality that were being fed. I can only see it getting worse and the PPV more frequent to be honest.

If Joshua wins can easily see 5 more this year
I have said many times Eddie and sky's ambition is to create an old WWE PPV model for boxing.
Even had Ohara Davies coming out to undertakers theme song !

Not sure about a record.
Strangely one of the busiest years for PPV in the UK was 2000. Tyson Francis, Hamed Bungu, Lewis Grant, Tyson Savarese, Hamed Sanchez, Lewis Botha and Lewis Tua all on PPV.
Not sure how many there will be this year but with three by the end of May you have to assume it'll be six or seven. Joshua and Brook will be out again at some point, but perhaps only once each, and in Brook's case it depends who he's fighting. Dan, Bizier and Porter weren't PPV.
DeGale Groves II will be if it happens.

Christ that's a lot. You don't mind paying to watch guys like Lewis, Hamed etc...

AJ could be out another two times as well. Could fight in August then December.

I'd be surprised if Haye fights again this year.

Lewis is a legend but I think some of those show that PPV hasn't suddenly become this commonplace thing and that there were faults with it going back years. Tyson against Francis and Savarese were dismal affairs.
I'd personally rather pay to watch something potentially competitive like Joshua Klitschko than fork out for a genuine legend of the sport in some mismatch freak show.

I don't think you can complain about AJ because he is PPV, simple as. Build it and they will come.
I'll be happy with Brook/Spence if the undercard gets a couple more decent fights.
The question is, do you wanna pay for hype or quality? We can moan that there is no undercard to AJ/Klitschko but the fight alone is huge, on the other hand, Brook/Spence won't have many complaining if they add another world title maybe, it's already looking good.
What we should be hoping for is Hearn not keeping PPV price at 20 squid.

Depending on performances; another Joshua one at the very least, Brook's next fight if he gets by Spence, Bellew's next fight (I don't think it will be Haye), DeGale's fight later in the year. Don't think his fight in July will be PPV unless its Groves.

Is everybody totally dismissing a loss on saturday night that could derail all these big plans ?

He'd probably still be on PPV. You're right though, it's not a certainty he wins.

Good luck selling a comeback fight against some bum on PPV if he gets ko'd early . It's not totally unfeasable that happens .
Should be exciting seeing how it pans out

Bellew/Haye
Bellew/Parker
Bellew/Wilder
AJ if he he wins Sat.
Brook v Khan (if he beats Spence)
Larger show with 3-4 World Title fights. Quigg/Selby etc.
There is another show in Monaco as well coming soon.
BT and ITV will no doubt try as well this year (albeit they lack name to sell it)

In fairness, all of those aren't going to happen, and i don't think anyone would have been surprised at any point if Khan Brook was a PPV fight.
Heavyweight is also a totally different prospect for selling a fight than cruiserweight. One thing people often say is 'all the big fights are PPV anyway.' They're not, and in fairness, a lot of boxing fans would be looking forward far much more to non-PPV fights (Frampton Santa Cruz II, DeGale Jack, Kovalev Ward) than PPV fights like Joshua Molina and Bellew Haye. In that sense, Bellew winning his world title was on standard Sky, BUT, after beating Haye I think him fighting for the heavyweight world title would be a much bigger deal.

Could see Degale's opponent being Callum Smith. DeGale's recent fights have been in North America, so I reckon Eddie will go for an opponent more familiar, whose name is not George Groves and opt not to do a PPV show.
After Eubank turned down the GGG fight on PPV for stupid reasons, I would shocked if its him.
