Just thinking about BJS there and that's what's prompted this thread. Used to be a bit of a fan but I can't go him at all anymore. So much so that I hope mini Tyson chins him when they meet.

I also used to be a Khan fan when he burst on to the scene. Been to quite a few of his fights etc... Now I can't stick him at all. Genuinely pisses me off.

Can't think of too many more off the top of my head but Mayweather springs to mind. Haye as well come to think of it.

Anyone used to be a fan of someone they hate now or vice versa?

I'd say I used to rate Canelo until he showed blatant signs of not wanting to fight GGG

Used to like Andre Ward as well until he done absolutely nothing for ages and nearly became irrelevant

I used to respect Haye for what he achieved in the ring but he has just become a messer, although I do respect the grit he showed us in carrying on with that achilles injury

I turned on George Groves a bit for the petty way he conducted himself before the second Froch fight, but I think that was just out of character for him as since he;s been back he's got that way he had about him before them fights

Tyson Fury. When he started I thought he was a proper breath of fresh air. I remember the early fights against the likes of Peret and Zeller and genuinely hoping he went all the way. Was massively supporting him before the first Chisora fight as well.

There's a still a bit of that but I don't really care if he wins or loses anymore. People say the sport is so much better with him back in it but he'd become tedious by the end and his fights were dull.

Margarito....loved him all the way back to Six Heads Lewis...then it was revealed he a cheat with the wraps.

david haye. loved him at time he beat mormeck, seemed like a decent bloke, fought anyone, family man etc. then he lost his head up his arse

David Haye, Khan and BJS for me.

Also I didn't like Lewis at the start but changed me mind/view on him over the years.

I dunno. I start to dislike fighters and then like them again, depending on who they're fighting or whatever. Haye has cost me loads of money in cancelled fights, and I have had periods of hating him, but can't help rooting for the shallow money grabbing self obsessed prick. I was such a huge fan back when he was still at cruiser, and when he moved to heavy the expectations were so high...

I thought Froch was a boring bloke and a KO waiting to happen at the start but he won me over and now I prefer him to Calzaghe. I think Calzaghe would have beaten him but for me, in terms of resume and credibility, only Lennox tops Froch throughout the time I have been watching boxing in terms of British fighters.

Tyson Fury, I have watched him since his debut and enjoyed him (although never thought he had it in him to beat Wlad) until he won the title and then became surly and miserable and weird, talking bollocks and becoming completely irrelevant. He is a Twitter fighter, and I think posts about him should be moved into the "Off Topic" forum now because he's not a boxer. Boxers box. If you are a Tyson Fury fan you are a fan of his personality and that's it. I'd quite like to see him back but the fights that he had that I really enjoyed were fights like Cunningham and I can't see him fighting like that again.

I don't think I had that much of an opinion on Saunders to be honest but he is now officially my least favourite fighter in the world. In a sport that features Adrian Broner and Adonis Stevenson that's quite some achievement.

That's a myth. Carl was on BBC 1, ITV 1 & 4 and Sky on the way up. It was Meaty Mick who kept ruining it. And he's always had the ego...

His world title fight with Pascal was on ITV wasn't it? I remember him on BBC as well. The Pascal fight was a barnstormer. First time I actually cheered for Froch.

Carl was on ITV terrestrial to a huge audience for the Pascal fight. Same card Tyson Fury debuted on from memory.

Hennessy messed up negotiations with Taylor meaning it was only available on a stream and ITV 4 delay. Pathetic promotion really but nothing to do with TV companies not wanting to broadcast him.

I would've considered myself a fan of Canelo until the "We don't f*ck around" garbage followed by months of f*cking around.

Not too many guys I recall have lost my fandom and a great deal of my respect like that.

I've had the opposite happen a few times, where I couldn't stand a guy but he won me over before it was all said and done. James Toney is the top example of this. At one time he was one of my most hated active fighters, and now he's one of my all time favorites.

Yeah that's correct. He definitely became a lot more marketable after the Taylor fight though. And the Pascal win to be fair. Always fancied them to have a rematch. First fight was a total war.

Froch for me is another good example of a dude I didn't like for the longest, but I came to appreciate him. I actually didn't like him for a goofy reason really. He always kept his left hand really low, like down by his knee, and it pissed me off to no end that his opponents didn't bomb him with right hands

I guess I shouldn't have been mad at Carl about that, but at his opponents.

Totally agree....I was also a fan of George Groves until the build up to the Froch fight

Macklin. Was a fan until after the Sturm fight. Then, because he'd been unlucky and had some success in a World Title fight he became incredibly dismissive of all the other domestic middleweights (mainly Barker and Murray). He then proved himself to be out of his depth whenever he stepped up from then on, and during this period his seriously dodgy connections to Marbella became more and more brazen.

I was a fan of his dad as a boy. My earliest boxing memory was Eubank v Benn in 1990 I think it was. I would've been 6. Obviously it's only a vague memory although I've watched the fight several times since. Anyway his dad gets on my tits nowadays. I used to love listening to him talk boxing, there was something almost hypnotic about it. I find him a tedious bore now!

You're about my age then. I was always a big benn fan but as time went on eubank grew on me a lot. And I always think characters in boxing are important. But his son is some way short of being as interesting imo

I always wonder about people who really loved Floyd. Yes, he was a fantastic boxer, but I don't really get why anyone would see a guy who beats women up in front of their kids and thinks 'I really hope this guy wins.'

Floyd gets a lot of defaulted, racially based support IMO, and he acts they way that a lot of people find cool for some reason.

Yeah Young Chris needs a personality transplant. I don't mind watching him fight though. Usually pretty exciting. Would probably benefit from giving his old man a body swerve and doing his own thing.

Was a Benn fan as well. His boys got nothing on him. Yet to be impressed by Connor. Still young though.

Yeah junior is value as a fighter, but needs some real opponents now.

Harley benn doesn't look like much, Conor doesn't look anything special but has a chance if taken slowly
