Laurence Okolie - why no fight?

It looks like Okolie didn't get on last night - any reason why? Was it a swing bout that never got on, or was there any other reason?
Seems there were only 5 bouts on.....

Timings of the fights coupled with the TV schedule meant that he couldn't fight.

Poor management. It's was only going to be a one round blowout. Put it on after Taylor-Meinke

Yeh seems strange, they could have easily fit this in it's not as if the undercard was particularly extensive, I feel for the guy.

He'll still have at least 5 more fights before the year is up.

Yes, but not in front of 90,000 at Wembley....

But to be serious, the chance to be on so big and memorable a bill, with such great exposure is once in lifetime and fabulous for his profile and would ultimately lead to more interest and even money.

Doubt that really bothers the lad. I'm sure he would have loved to just get out there and box in that stadium on that bill. Stuff of dreams even if it was low on the undercard. They basically had no fights after Quigg and just had 'build up' for about 50 mins solid.

That's the 2nd time already this has happened to Lawrence - I get that Matchroom /sky had to be very careful not to be late with the main event but it is extremely poor scheduling. I think josh Kelly didn't get on either?

Cordina won by stoppage. Taylor won by stoppage. Campbell won by stoppage. Only Quigg's fight went the distance. Were they really expecting all 4 to get stoppage wins to have time for Okolie to get on? Seems a bit mad, the lad must be gutted.

Exactly, so much fluff and time wasting, could have easily got the other 2 fights on.

Cordina won Slot for 1st fight - Okolie was live float and Kelly was anytime.

Adam Booth pulled Kelly - as he didn't want to be anytime float was story - don't know if true or not.
He was sitting on couch with Kugan IFL/Ryan Burnett on Twitter so certainly wasn't going to Wembley.

Aye likely full of Gear - hence why nobody will touch him.
Can't even get on his mates undercard in Sheffield.

There seemed to be plenty of time for the Okollie fight. Sky seemed to have plenty of time to kill from 9.00 pm.

Yeah from 9.05 to 9.45 was a slot but they changed the ring apron between that time for Main Event.
Don't know if for sponsors or agreed beforehand but they swapped things around.

Yes he likely would. He was 4/6 or even lower to win by KO in first round. An henshaw got kod in 1 by Luke Massey
