2 things peed me off about PPV last night, forgot until I watched the rerun today. Bloody adverts, If this wasnt PPV I wouldnt care so much but ive paid to watch the card not all the damn ads. One thing that really did annoy me was on the tv screen where the clock ticks down, bottom left, a load of bloody facts kept coming on and making me take my eyes of the action to read them.

I wasnt bothered how old AJ was when Klit was born, or how many amateur fights they had. It was so annoying.

Annoyed me as well. There were only 4 fights (inc a one rounder) in the first 4 hours of the broadcast. They didn't have time to show Okolie or Kelly, but found plenty of time for adverts and waffle. At least the main event was worth the wait.

The adverts infuriate me when I pay out £17 itsma downright disgrace actually, I want to see what's going on between rounds. It's a real joke.

Everyone who I have spoke to who use kodi said it was a no go on it. Terrible streams even the paid subs.

I really struggled but found one right at the bottom of the list on Sportsmania HD and it worked excellent no lag or anything, just that it was an American broadcast. All the sky sports ones were failing though.

how can you call yourself boxing fans if you dont even support the sport?

i paid 21 quid for HD on virgin, some of that cash will go into both men's pockets and the teams that keep the game going. i just dont get trying to rip it all off through streams for genuine fights like this.

I'm always torn on this, 'cause I prefer the US commentary if it's someone decent like Bernstein, but then I might miss out on some chat with British fighters.

I actually watched the sky version on Sunday. I thought Froch was awful, worst fight I've heard him call.

Aye, he had some strange ideas about who was in the ascendancy at times.

I was annoyed at the crappy music between rounds. Since when has boxing not been entertaining enough that they have to blast 50 seconds of unintelligible distorted music so we can't hear what the corners are saying?
As for the adds, don't get me started
I recorded the fight on my sky box so I could fast forward through the guff and adds,plus I was not getting up at 5am on a Sunday morning

To cut to an advert while both men were in the ring prowling around waiting for Buffer to do his thing was appalling.

I love the moments before a big fight. I wanna see everything that happens in the ring, are they eyeballing each other or team members, do they look nervous etc etc.

And how many shots of the fvcking crowd do we need to see. If I wanna see drunken yobbos screaming COME ON JOSH i'll turn and look at my mates. I pay £21 to see the fighters not endless close ups of the crowd.

Annoying though all the above are to me, none of them even comes close to the irritation caused me by the gormless bint presenting the show. Not fit for purpose is the nicest thing I could say about her.

Have you not considered that possibly people couldnt afford to pay for it?.... And pay per view is not the only source of revenue for the show.

I can't remember for sure but I think they even took an ad break just before the ring walk and maybe during a round......or did I misremember?

That was my biggest issue was the undercard was terrible and then Kelly/Okolie didn't even fight.

Cheapest PPV undercard of all time.

Obviously Wlad/K2 didn't want to spend anything on support fights.

The ad breaks between rounds did my head in. I wanted to hear what was said in the corners, particularly Freddie Roach in Quigg's corner.
Why oh why we have adverts on a PPV, I have no idea. All gambling sites too...

As boxing gets more popular with your average sports fan the core boxing audience becomes less and less important and broadcasters will feel no need to pander to boxing aficionados demands in the same way that the Premier League don't give a fvck about matchgoing fans because the money they contribute is dwarfed by the billions Sky are paying them.

I don't agree that they don't care - an ad break really disrupts the flow of the experience. And even if they don't show the corners, there's still plenty of room for analysis of the previous round, of replays of important exchanges.

I think you underestimate the interest of so called casuals, and that term is rather derogatory as many fans may not be hardcore like us, but care about the sport and are more knowledgeable than you'd think. I picked up some casuals chatting about this fight and the Haye Bellew fight and they dida Pretty job analysing. (And remember the 90,000 at the fight knew enough to realize Hearn is a slippery smarmer and booed him )

I watched the fight with 20 people who ranged from hardcore to probably never watched a fight before and they were all so into the fight (admittedly not so much for Quigg-Simion ) and loved the build up, walk in, watched the inter round replays with interest. Admittedly this was a massive fight and a fantastic contest...... but don't underestimate people's interest.

You could be right. I'm judging the audience as either A; casual or B; hardcore whereas there are shades of grey in reality.

I still don't think that changes things though. At the end of the day all everybody involved wants is more money and the easiest way to do that is more bloody adverts.

Well you're absolutely right about the money of course! And dropping an ad in with 1.5 PPV buys, and probably 5 million viewers or more glued to the screen has a high value

Also, they just showed long / high shots of the stadium too much between rounds all evening. I like the idea of listening to alternative corners between each round. This didn't happen enough last night.

i think you forget that people already work hard to pay for sky sports. do you not look for the cheapest garage to fill your car up? or do you go to one on the motorway so the owners coin it in?

I don't pay for sky sports, it's a rip off. As for your analogy it should be would you siphon some out of someone else's car rather than pay for it yoursen.
