I don't wish to dimming ash Tyson Furys achievement at all, but most would agree that Saturdays Wlad was a different man to the Wlad that Fury boxed.

Yes Klit did look superb last night but Fury would have his number what ever Klit did.

Nope, Fury beat the Wlad when he was at his poorest. The Wlad last night would have beaten Fury quite easily. Just like John McDermott did.

Fury would still beat Wlad yes
Wlad had no clue what to do with Fury, whether you are powerful or not and in cracking condition, if someone is in front of you confusing you to the point where you haven't got any idea how to approach it you will still get beaten
Wlad was quality last night though

No. That's why Fury left the heavy work to AJ. The coke troll has different priorities. Wlad would have stopped the blowhard in the rematch, which is why it never happened.

Yep. Fury beat Wlad before they stepped into the ring. He didn't know what to do with him that night, but he is no fool and the rematch would have seen Wlad do what was required.

Who knows?
Maybe Fury has Wlad's number or maybe he beat a sub par version of Klitschko.
Klitschko looked better last night but maybe Fury has an extra gear or two as well.
Cue Fury extra gear jokes

Styles make fights and Fury's style would always make Wlad look bad. I'd take Fury by decision again against Klitschko from last night.

Klitschko was guilty of not taking Fury seriously enough. He'd have gone into their rematch with a lot more fire, as he did against Joshua. I fancied Klitschko to win that rematch, especially 'cause he had the option to change his approach, whereas Fury could only attempt the same again.

I think you just have to give Fury the benefit here. His size and mind games along with his smart game plan gave him the edge over Wlad. There's no reason to believe any of that would change.

I don't think so. Fury would need an entirely new plan. I don't think Wlad gets fooled twice. Fury was excellent that night. Wlad was below par. Partly Fury making him so of course, just can't see lighting striking twice.

I'm not sure. We'll never find out.
Wlad was certainly better on Saturday night than we've seen in years but styles make fights. The rematch with Fury would have been interesting. It's not as if Fury completely dominated Wlad. It was a fight devoid of action and punches landed.

Fury would of beaten saturdays version of Wlad the exact same way. All this talk of Wlad being great on Saturday are a little far fetched. Am I the only one who thought he didn't let his hands go enough exactly like he did against Tyson. There were rounds in the fight on Saturday where I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad let one right hand go and the shot that he kept looking for was the left hook which was being telegraphed by Joshua. Fury would of ducked and dived and messed with Wlad to a decision again

But Wlad fought an entirely different style, with entirely different tactics on Saturday night, compared to how he approached Fury

I understand the curiosity
But
All that matters is that fury beat Wlad that was in the opposite corner fight night
Just like it's kinda pointless those that say 35 year old Wlad would have put Joshua away etc

Wlad clearly let his hands go more on Saturday than he did against Fury. That seemed very obvious.
I think the reason Wlad was a favourite in the Fury rematch was twofold; obviously Fury's weight gain and seemingly lax training played a part, but also the job to beat Fury didn't seem too difficult; he just needed to throw a lot more. For all the talk of Fury bewitching Wlad first time round he didn't really avoid that many punches. Wlad just didn't throw them until it was far too late.
He's never been a risk taker but I imagine Wlad would have accepted the way to beat Fury was to chuck a lot more at him early doors. Yes the footwork and movement from Fury is good but his power wouldn't put Wlad off.

He did let his hands go more on Saturday only because he could land more he had no success against fury I'm not convinced that was a far better klitschko on Saturday than against fury I just think fury nullified his work

But against Fury he did have more success and landed more when he went for it later in the fight; it was just too late.
I think Wlad dealt with the fight the same way he did for nearly all his fights for years, and it's in his nature to not risk anything and fight conservatively. But in a rematch I think he'd acknowledge Fury's power is nothing special and the way to get rid of him was to come forward a lot more and force it.

Because Joshua was right in front of him, so there's much less chance of missing. Fury's movement meant that he kept having to reset, and given the safety first style he's developed over the years he wasn't able to pull the trigger as he obviously wasn't confident in his ability to land on Fury without being countered.

Agreed.
I don't know why people care so much about Fury. His performance vs Klitschko was unwatchable and he will be unwatchable when he comes back

I didnt think it was purely because Wlad was so much better Saturday. Against Joshua, he had more of a flat footed, stands right in front of you opponent than he did when he fought Fury, who was constantly moving and was light on his feet. Fury also used his extra length/reach well aswell.
If you watch the Fury-Klitschko fight again, he cant get anything going against Fury, who was constantly circling and pivoting.
Wlad needs to get his jab working before he's willing to commit to his other punches. He could do that against Joshua who wasnt very hard to find but not against Tyson.
That's not to say that Joshua wouldnt beat Fury though. He'd have to chase him around the ring no doubt but Joshua would be a lot more willing to take punches to get his own off. Unlike Wlad when he fought Fury.

I know why Fury beat Wlad
But even a blind man could see Klitschko was better, sharper and more focussed on Saturday
His movement was better, he looked 5 years younger than he had even against Jennings, he was clearly more motivated and had learned lessons from his previous defeat.
He'd got used to cruising to victories for over a decade

Wlad was excellent the other night but he wouldn't have fought the way he did if it was Fury infront of him. You change your style accordingly. I think Fury would've beaten him again but I don't think Wlad would've been as bad as he was in the first fight. IMO he'd have still came up short though.
I just hope Fury can get back in to peak condition so we can see the best Fury and the best Joshua go at it.
